- MG’s new all-electric estate car wins the 2023 ‘Buy It’ award at carwow’s annual honours
- Judges celebrated the model as being practical, affordable and good to drive
- The new MG4 EV was also recognised as the carwow overall Car of the Year
The new MG5 EV has been revealed as a winner at the carwow Buy It awards, as part of their annual honours celebrating the best cars tested this year.
carwow, the online new and used car buying platform, is behind the most popular automotive channel on YouTube with over 7.6 million subscribers and nominates the cars which scored the highest in road tests as part of its annual awards.
When announcing the MG5 EV as a winner, carwow commented it was rare for an EV to offer as much value for money as the new, all-electric estate car.
“Electric estates are a real rarity, so it’s a relief that the main one on offer is a practical, affordable and easy to live with as the MG5,” said carwow’s Mat Watson. “It feels nice and solid inside, is surprisingly good to drive and there’s loads of space in the boot. There aren’t many EVs that offer this much car for so little cash.”
Launched in November this year, starting from just £30,995, the second generation of the multi-award-winning model features comprehensive upgrades to its exterior, interior and technology, while retaining highly competitive pricing. Designed as an adaptable, all-electric estate car, it offers drivers style, space and practicality at an affordable price.
MG’s new all-electric hatchback, the MG4, was also named as carwow’s overall Car of the Year – following a series of prestigious award nominations that will be revealed towards the end of 2022.
