• UK debut for Kia’s new three-row, seven-seat flagship electric SUV
  • On static and dynamic display throughout the four-day event, with several hill runs scheduled for the weekend
  • EV9 to start at £64,495, with order books now open

The highly anticipated Kia EV9 will make its UK public debut at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed (13-16 July). The brand-new, all-electric, flagship SUV will be on static and dynamic display at the prestigious hillclimb event, demonstrating Kia’s commitment to cutting-edge design and sustainable mobility.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed, a celebration of everything exciting and innovative in the automotive industry, provides the perfect platform to showcase the ground-breaking EV9 to UK motorists for the first time.

The car will be driven up the 1.16-mile (1.86-kilometre) hill several times throughout the weekend by pro driver Jade Paveley. Jade has competed in various motorsports since the age of 15 and is the end-of-stage reporter for the World Rally Championship and Junior Presenter for the European World Rally Championship. She became the 2021 British Rally Cross Country Championship (BXCC) Class T2 Champion and 2018 Junior Welsh Tarmac Rally Champion. She was also the driver of the EV6 GT when it made its dynamic debut at last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Between drives, the EV9 will be on display in the ‘First Glance Paddock’. Kia will exhibit a second example of the EV9 at the event’s ‘Electric Avenue’ area, where Kia representatives will be available to provide in-depth insights into the new model.

The Kia EV9

As the company’s first three-row electric flagship SUV, the spacious and striking EV9 is a rugged, sophisticated, and technologically advanced electric vehicle. Available as a six- or seven-seater, it combines bold styling, premium versatility, multifaceted connectivity, and Kia’s signature ‘Opposites United’ design to deliver a vehicle that’s ready for anything. It offers a driving range of up to 336 miles (WLTP combined cycle), and features 800V ultra-fast charging technology, enabling it to charge from 10-to-80 per cent just 24 minutes from the fastest public chargers1.

UK pricing and specification for the Kia EV9 has been announced as of 5 July. The line-up will start from £64,495 in the UK, with order books now open for the brand’s new flagship three-row electric SUV

The Kia EV9 is one of several new models to feature in Kia’s ‘Plan S’ mid- to long-term electrification plan. The strategy will see Kia launch 15 EVs globally by 2027, nine of which are ultimately destined for the UK.
