Record market share for Dacia in 2024, and Sandero is Europe’s best-selling car

Dacia achieves a record market share in 2024 and remains strongly on the European podium for retail customers.

RECORD MARKET SHARE IN EUROPE
Dacia sold 676,340 vehicles in 2024, registering 2.7% growth compared with 2023. 2024 also marked a milestone in the history of Dacia, having now sold over 9 million vehicles since 2004.

Dacia is outperforming the market, with sales up 1.6% in 2024 compared with 2023. The brand’s sales performance confirms the relevance of its positioning based on offering the best value for money.

In Europe, Dacia recorded:

In 2024, Dacia has achieved an 8.2% share of PC sales to retail customers (8.3% in 2023), solidifying its place on the European podium for the fourth year running.

These good results were driven by strong performances in a number of European countries, which recorded an all-time high in terms of PC market share: 4.2% in Austria (up 0.2 points on 2023), 5.2% in Belgium-Luxembourg (up 1 points on 2023), 2.5% in Germany (up 0.1 points on 2023), 6.2% in Italy (up 0.8 points on 2023), and 7.7% in Portugal (up 0.3 points on 2023).

Some countries recorded very strong growth in volumes, with increases of over 10%: +13.2% in Austria, +15.4% in Belgium-Luxembourg, +20.2% in the Czech Republic, +13.1% in Italy, +16.3% in Morocco, +11.9% in Poland, +10.7% in Portugal and +12.4% in Spain.

A STRONG PRODUCT PLAN FEATURING FOUR KEY MODELS
Sandero, with 309,392 sales in 2024 (up 14.5% on 2023), is the best-selling vehicle in Europe across all channels, and the best-selling vehicle in the European retail market since 2017. Sandero is the first Dacia vehicle to sell more than 300,000 units in a single year.
Duster (generations 2 and 3) has retained its position as the best-selling SUV for retail customers in Europe since 2018. Duster is also the 2nd most sold vehicle to retail customers in Europe. With 215,024 cars sold in 2024 (up 7.3% on 2023) in all countries, Duster has exceeded 2.5 million units on the road since its launch in 2010. The new generation, launched in 2024, will generate 29% of its sales from hybrid powertrains.
Spring‘s sales fell significantly in 2024 (-63% vs. 2023), mainly as a result of the reduction in government grants. However, the arrival of the new version in showrooms in September led to an increase in orders over the last three months.

As for Jogger, it sold 96,440 vehicles in 2024 (up 2.4% on 2023), maintaining its podium position in the non-SUV C-segment in the European retail market. Hybrid powertrains accounted for 29% of sales.

Also contributing to Dacia’s appeal is its ability to win over and retain its customers. Within the ‘Europe 5’, comprising of France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain, six in 10 Dacia customers were not previously Renault Group customers (62.3%). Eight in 10 Dacia customers go on to buy another Renault Group vehicle (81.1%).

Proof of the dynamism of the Dacia range, the models launched in 2024 are chosen by 78% of customers with the highest level of equipment, respectively 80% for Duster and 67% for Spring.

To strengthen customer loyalty, Dacia Zen warranty offers Dacia owners up to seven years of cover and is available to owners of all Dacia vehicles that are up to six years old and have covered less than 75,000 miles. Dacia Zen is renewed for free following each annual service completed by an official Dacia retailer.

OUTLOOK FOR 2025
In 2025, Dacia is embarking on an ambitious strategic phase with several major challenges.

With Bigster, Dacia is staying true to its values by offering the best value for money in the C-SUV segment. A first on the market, Bigster offers all the equipment expected by customers in the C-SUV segment, always at a Dacia price (from £24,995 in the UK with the full range under £30,000), true to the brand’s ‘best value for money’ positioning.

Bigster pre-orders are now open and will be available through the retail network from spring 2025.

Dacia will also be focusing on the electrification of its range by offering more hybrid powertrains, while remaining true to its strategy of offering simple, affordable vehicles.

With its involvement in the Dakar Rally and the World Rally-Raid Championship, the brand will continue in 2025 to express its robust and outdoor credentials in the most extreme terrain.

Denis Le Vot, Dacia CEO, said: “In 2024, Dacia once again demonstrated its ability to combine performance, robustness and accessibility. Our results testify to customers’ growing confidence in our models and confirm that we are pursuing our strategy.”
