• 38% of male car owners would prefer to receive car care products instead of more underwear this Christmas
  • Young car owners are the group most likely to prefer gifts that give their car a Santa-approved showroom shine
  • Autoglym’s latest range of gift kits are the ultimate treat for car enthusiasts and casual cleaners alike

Letchworth, 17 November 2025: With Christmas fast approaching, a new nationwide survey has revealed a simple but important truth – men don’t want to receive more underwear as gifts. The poll found that over a third (38%) of men say they would much prefer to receive car care products as gifts this coming festive season, instead of another pair of socks or underwear.

The survey, commissioned by Autoglym, the UK’s largest car care brand, also found that younger car owners are most likely to prefer receiving car care products that keep their four-wheeled pride and joy clean and protected. Over half (52%) of 25- to 34-year-olds expressed a preference for car care gifts, compared to just 30% who would rather opt for the traditional socks and underwear.

To ease the stress of Christmas gifting, Autoglym has created a range of gift kits at different price points, each packed with useful Santa-approved goodies. Whether it is for cleaning the interior or achieving a sleigh-worthy shine on paintwork, wheels and glass, Autoglym has a kit capable of pleasing detailing enthusiasts and casual car cleaners alike.
