Maranello, March 2026 – Ferrari has opened a new Diagnostics Centre in Maranello, designed to provide preventive care and advanced diagnostic services to both its employees and the local community. The centre, which is managed by Med-Ex, Ferrari’s long-standing medical partner, uses the latest technologies, including equipment made by Philips, a world leader in medical innovation.
The new Diagnostic Centre sets a record in Italy: it is the first time that a company outside of the medical sector has created a facility of this level, working in collaboration with the relevant public institutions. A fruitful collaboration with regional and local authorities has found fertile ground for developing concrete, local initiatives that benefit the area and the community.
The initiative was presented today by Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, Royal Philips CEO Roy Jakobs, and the General Manager of the Modena Local Health Authority Mattia Altini, with Emilia-Romagna Regional President Michele de Pascale, Maranello Mayor Luigi Zironi and Med-Ex founder and CEO Fred Fernando also in attendance.
Screening and prevention for the community
In the coming days, a three-year agreement will be signed with the Local Health Authority of Modena, in order to offer mammography breast screening at the centre to women living in the towns of Maranello, Formigine and Fiorano, with a view to strengthening cancer prevention measures in the area. According to the regional programme, approximately 8,300 examinations are planned, with reports to be provided by Local Health Authority specialists.
The centre is also applying to become an epidemiological study hub, courtesy of the data pooling activities performed by Med-Ex, and will offer remote analysis of clinical documentation (second opinions) in collaboration with the most highly-accredited public health centres in Italy.
A shared value model
Ferrari will not make any profits from the centre – further testament to its desire to feed value back into the area and promote the growth of local skills. Indeed, Ferrari’s share of the profits generated by this activity will be reinvested in training for medical and technical staff, as well as in scholarships for young medical professionals.
Cutting-edge technology for health
The centre is equipped with the most cutting-edge equipment, from software with integrated AI features, including a Total Body Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine, a Spectral Computed Tomography machine, a Mammography machine with Tomosynthesis, a Digital Radiography machine with smart collimation, and a DEXA Bone Densitometer. Every piece of equipment ensures the highest quality and performance standards, delivering faster, more precise and more reliable diagnoses.
An integrated system for employee wellbeing
The Diagnostic Centre supports and confirms Ferrari’s traditional focus on people and their health. This can be seen, for example, in Formula Benessere, the Prancing Horse’s long-standing welfare programme: since 2024, this has included a comprehensive annual check-up (provided to over 4,000 employees in 2025), and Formula Benessere Junior, which offers medical care to the children of Ferrari employees (over 1,000 consultations in 2025). As of today, with the inauguration of the new facility, the range of specialist consultations available to Ferrari employees will provide them with an unprecedented level of comprehensive health care.
