Oxfordshire: 21st March 2025
Hagerty’s world renowned Festival of the Unexceptional returns to Grimsthorpe Castle, Lincolnshire on Saturday 26th with the biggest and best event yet.

Jonny Smith and Richard Porter, hosts of automotive podcast Smith and Sniff, proved to be so popular at FOTU 2024, Hagerty is delighted to welcome them back for this year’s event, bringing their unique brand of automotive entertainment to the FOTU main stage once again.

The Wheeltrim of Misfortune returns, a quiz in which contestants spin a giant wheeltrim to decide what category of question they have to answer. Richard and Jonny are the hosts, and all questions will be devised by Richard, the man behind the Boring Car Trivia book series. Two, one-hour shows will take place, and the winners will be presented with a suitably FOTU-worthy trophy.

A live Smith and Sniff podcast will also be recorded on stage with an audience Q&A session. Here FOTU guests can enjoy the live ramblings, laughs and mishaps the duo are known for, and while nobody knows where the conversation will go, watchers are guaranteed an entertaining show.

In addition, Smith and Sniff will have their own dedicated area, along with Jonny’s The Late Brake Show. Guests will able to view display cars chosen by Jonny and Richard as well as have an opportunity to buy merchandise and meet the duo when they are not on stage.

Tickets for Smith and Sniff live podcast recordings always sell out fast, but now guests have the unique opportunity to witness a live stage recording of a podcast, ask a question to the duo, take part in a live gameshow, and enjoy a full day out at the 11th Festival of the Unexceptional.

Tickets for the 2025 Festival of the Unexceptional are available now, with early bird tickets starting from just £20 per person, £5 off the general ticket price, with free entry for children under 15. Owners of an Unexceptional car that they wish to promote for sale on the day, can do so for a discounted early bird price of £30 for the car and driver.

Mark Roper, Managing Director of Hagerty International, said “I am delighted to welcome Smith and Sniff back to the FOTU stage. Their humour always brings the stage to life, and I know FOTU guests appreciate their in-depth knowledge and passion for the cars on display.”

Owners of Unexceptional cars can now apply to be a part of the 2025 Concours De L’ordinare event. Nominated cars will be judged for their eligibility by the experts at Hagerty, with 50 cars being chosen to form the main Concours event.
