The Hagerty Hill Climb returns to Shelsley Walsh to celebrate 120 years of this historic motorsport course. Taking place on Saturday 17th May, this highlight of the motoring calendar promises the best motorsport action and a wonderful family day out. One of the oldest motorsport events in the world, Shelsley Walsh has been hosting its hill climb since 1905 and is the only one to still use its original course.

Returning for this year’s event is an impressive collection of Group B and World Rally Championship rally cars supplied by members of the Ralli 22 Club, the majority of which will be taking part in hillclimb demonstrations.

The list of cars taking part is a spectacular collection of some of the greatest cars ever to compete on rallying stages in the UK and around the world, including:

• Ford Escort RS Cosworth WRC
• Lancia Delta Yellow Group A
• MG Metro 6R4 Group B
• Porsche 911 GT3
• Renault Maxi 5 Turbo WRC
• Rover SD1 Group A

For those who prefer to be a part of the action, guests can drive their own car up the hill for just £150 with a guarantee of at least three runs on the famous course. All cars are welcome, no previous experience is required, and owners can drive as fast or as sedately as they wish.

Hagerty Drivers Club members qualify for a 25% discount on the entry fee and for the first time at the event, will enjoy access to the HDC members enclosure, the perfect place to take a quiet moment away from the action and enjoy a range of refreshments.

General admission tickets for spectators are just £30 per car, making it a great value day out with many excellent vantage points to enjoy all the action. This year the event will also provide a free camp site for ticket holders who wish to stay on the night of Friday 16th May ensure they are get an early spot on the course on the Staturday. Those who bring a classic car will also get to park in a central display area for guests to admire your pride and joy.

There will also be lots to see and do in the paddock, one of the few places where you will be able to see everything from vintage cars to modern race and rally cars. The paddock will also feature an amazing Scalextric track run by the Mission Motorsport charity where guests can take part in a six-car race for just £5. The person with the fastest lap at the end of the day will win a Scalextric Set worth £150.

Hagerty, an automotive lifestyle brand and leading specialist insurance provider, announces the return of its Hagerty Hill Climb event, taking place at Shelsley Walsh on Saturday 11^th May.

Hill Climbing is one of Britain’s oldest forms of motorsport and Shelsley Walsh is regarded as one of the best hill climb venues in the world. Set in the stunning Worcestershire hills it opened in 1905, and has held events continuously since then, only pausing for World War II and the COVID 19 pandemic. Over the years, 1000s of cars have competed at Shelsley Walsh, with drivers such as Stirling Moss having tried their luck on the course. The fastest time was recorded in 2021 when Sean Gould completed the 1000-yard (910m) course in just 22.37 seconds.

Unlike a track day, hill climbing offers the perfect way to enjoy motorsport at your own pace. Cars are released onto the course individually, and while every run is timed, the entire event is non-competitive, with the aim being inclusive fun for all whatever you drive. This format creates a fun and welcoming event for all types of driver and all types of vehicle, presenting a great way for enthusiasts to sample motorsport in a safe environment.

The Hagerty Hill Climb offers a wonderful opportunity for spectators too, with great food and drink options, a wide choice of viewing areas and a plethora of great cars running up the hill. In addition, the paddock areas are free to walk around allowing spectators the chance to get up close to the 160 road and racing cars expected to take part, with a great mix of vehicles ranging from vintage speed machines to the latest sports cars.

Drivers can take part for just £135, a price which guarantees at least 3 hillclimb runs as well as complimentary food and drink throughout the day. After a morning briefing, cars are allocated into groups, with runs taking place continuously throughout the day on a group-by-group basis. Spectator tickets are priced at just £25 per car, not per person, offering great value for families and friends who travel together.

Hagerty, an automotive lifestyle brand and leading specialist insurance provider, today announces dates and headline content for its 2023 Hagerty Hill Climb event which, due to the success of the 2022 event, is now taking place over two-days.

On 27^th and 28^th May, Hagerty will bring together an eclectic mix of cars to tackle the historic hillclimb course at Shelsley Walsh. Since 1905 Shelsley Walsh has played host to heroes of motorsport, making it the oldest motor sport event still held on its original course.

The stars of the show will be one of the most impressive collections of Group B and A rally cars ever amassed, the majority taking part in hillclimb demonstrations allowing guests the rare opportunity to see, and hear, these magnificent cars being used as intended.

The cars, supplied by members of the Ralli 22 Club, comprehensively cover the heyday of rallying.

For those who prefer to be a part of the action, Hagerty offers the chance for guests to drive their own car at one of the most memorable motorsport locations in the UK with the purchase of a £135 ‘run what ya brung’ ticket, guaranteeing at least 3 hillclimb runs as well as complimentary food and drink. For non-driving spectators, the event offers a full day of hillclimbing and a host of additional entertainment for just £25 per ticket.

A Driver’s Enclosure ticket is also available where guests can enjoy grandstand access, complimentary food and drink, and the chance to chat with drivers and owners about their cars, for an additional £35.
