I’d like to congratulate every graduate and thank our partners at Skillnet for continued support in delivering apprenticeship training that equips learners with the tools to thrive in a fast-evolving sector. We look forward to seeing these apprentices grow into the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.”

The Kia Apprenticeship Programme offers a range of pathways across technical, service, and parts disciplines, designed to equip learners with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed to thrive in a modern automotive environment. Delivered in partnership with Skillnet, the programme blends hands-on workshop training with classroom-based learning, covering everything from diagnostics and electrified vehicle systems to customer service excellence and dealership operations.

Apprentices benefit from industry-recognised qualifications, structured career development, and access to cutting-edge tools and technologies thanks to the state-of-the-art facility. These are delivered within a supportive, brand-led learning environment that prepares them for long-term success within the Kia network and their careers.

The Kia Academy
Located within a purpose-built 40,000 sq. ft. facility at St. Modwen Park in Derby, the Kia Academy is a state-of-the-art training centre designed exclusively for Kia UK.

Kia holds ceremony for completion of Hwaseong EVO Plant East and groundbreaking for EVO Plant West at AutoLand Hwaseong

Customised vehicle production and eco-friendly technologies adopted, to establish Hyundai Motor Group’s first PBV production hub

Kia to invest KRW 4 trillion in approximately 297,000 square-metre site to secure combined annual production capacity of 250,000 PBV units

100,000 PV5 units to be annually produced at EVO Plant East, and 150,000 PV7 and other PBV units at EVO Plant West

Kia to establish centralised production base in Korea to support global expansion of its PBV business

Launch of PBV Conversion Centre for co-development of specialised PBV models with strategic partners, fostering a collaborative PBV ecosystem

Kia Corporation today celebrated the completion of its dedicated Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) facility, the Hwaseong EVO Plant East and the breaking of ground for the EVO Plant West, a large-scale PBV production facility in Korea.

Combined, Kia will have an annual PBV production capacity of 250,000 units as part of its aim to establish a future PBV production hub.

The ceremony was held at Kia’s AutoLand Hwaseong plant, located in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The event was attended by around 200 guests, including Min-seok Kim, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea; Shinhak Moon, Vice Minister of Trade Industry and Resources (MOTIR) of the Republic of Korea; Dong Yeon Kim, Governor of Gyeonggi Province; Myeong-geun Jeong, Mayor of Hwaseong Special City, and local National Assembly members.

From Hyundai Motor Group (the Group) key executives in attendance included Euisun Chung, Executive Chair of Hyundai Motor Group; Ho Sung Song, Kia President and Global CEO; Sung Kim, President and Head of Hyundai Motor Group Strategic Planning Division; and Chang Song, President and Head of Hyundai Motor Group Advanced Vehicle Planning (AVP) Division.

To support construction of the PBV-dedicated facilities – including the newly completed EVO Plant East and the EVO Plant West, scheduled for operation in 2027 – Kia has secured a site of 296,882 square metres and is investing approximately KRW 4 trillion in infrastructure and research and development.

Leveraging a combined annual capacity of 250,000 units, Kia plans to position the Hwaseong EVO Plant (East and West) as a future strategic hub to drive the global expansion of the company’s PBV business.

Ho Sung Song, Kia President and Global CEO said, “Kia is leveraging the electrification of light commercial vehicles as a key opportunity to position PBVs as a core future business. As we continue our journey toward sustainable future mobility, Kia remains committed to becoming a trusted partner in building a better future for Korea — and for humanity as a whole.”

Hwaseong EVO Plant Integrates Cutting-Edge Manufacturing Technologies
The name ‘EVO Plant’ combines ‘Evolution’ and ‘Plant’, reflecting Kia’s commitment to pursuing evolution and innovation, and its ambition to become a brand that leads the new mobility environment.

Hwaseong EVO Plant applies a wide range of future-oriented manufacturing technologies and is designed to minimise carbon footprint. The facility emphasises automation, sustainability, and a human-centric environment, with each process integrating features that reflect these priorities.

The EVO Plant will also apply Hyundai Motor and Kia’s E-FOREST smart factory brand to enable real-time operation and quality control.

In the body shop, a smart logistics system has been implemented through the integration of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and other advanced technologies.

The paint shop operates dry booths that reduce the impact of controlled substances, making the EVO Plant a low-carbon sustainable facility.

In the final assembly shop, Kia has created a human-centric environment based on advanced automation technologies. The facility will feature specification guidance monitors to prevent operational issues, automation of labour-intensive processes, such as heavy component installation, and low-noise equipment, contributing to a human-centric environment.

Additionally, a flexible production process has been adopted by combining Kia’s mass-production conveyor system with a cell-based production process, which enables simultaneous manufacturing of different mobility types.

Annual Production Capacity of 250,000 Units and Conversion Centre Operation
The newly completed EVO Plant East is a dedicated PBV facility built on a 98,433 square-metre site, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units for Kia’s PV5 mid-size PBV, including the Passenger, Cargo, Chassis Cab, and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) models.

EVO Plant West will be built on a 136,671 square-metre site, securing an annual production capacity of 150,000 units for Kia’s upcoming large-size PBV models, including the PV7. Once both EVO Plant East and West are fully operational, Kia will establish a full PBV lineup with an annual capacity of 250,000 units.

Kia is also launching its dedicated PBV Conversion Centre in collaboration with strategic partners to develop specialised PBV models. Built on a 63,728 square-metre site, the Conversion Centre will produce a wide range of customised models based on Kia’s first PBV model, the PV5, including open-bed trucks, box vans, and camping vehicles.

The centre will also develop and produce additional conversion models, based on upcoming PBVs, such as the PV7. It will serve as a strategic base for the expansion of Kia’s PBV business, while fostering a sustainable PBV ecosystem through close collaboration with partner companies.

Kia also plans to accelerate its RE100 initiative by investing in a 50 MW solar power generation facility within AutoLand Hwaseong.

Once EVO Plant East, EVO Plant West, and the Conversion Centre are fully operational, Kia will have established a comprehensive PBV hub capable of producing its entire PBV lineup.

To establish a dominant position in the PBV sector, Kia’s strategic focus is on five key areas: Product, Manufacturing, Solutions, Services, and Channels.

By reinforcing its global EV leadership and expanding its PBV business across these pillars, Kia is committed to delivering sustainable and innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of global customers – in line with its brand vision to become a Sustainable Mobility Solutions Provider.

Pop-up event showcases Nadal’s career highlights and history of partnership, as well as Kia PV5 Passenger and EV9 ‘GT-Line’ vehicles

Kia Corporation has officially extended its partnership with tennis legend Rafael (‘Rafa’) Nadal, continuing an authentic affiliation that has grown to transcend mere sponsorship over the last 21 years. The announcement is being celebrated by Nadal’s visit to Korea, where he has been participating in events for both tennis prospects and fans under the theme “The Road Ahead.”

The brand’s partnership with Rafa began in 2004, when Kia Spain chose to sponsor the up-and-coming athlete. Following his first Grand Slam success at the 2005 French Open, Kia officially appointed Nadal as global brand ambassador in 2006. The champion’s values of resilience and constant self-improvement were in clear alignment with Kia’s values.

This week, Nadal returned to Korea for the first time since 2013 to celebrate the renewal of his enduring partnership with Kia. The renewal ceremony was held today at Kia Unplugged Ground, the company’s flagship brand space in Seongsu, Seoul, providing an opportunity to look back on the history of Kia and Nadal, their shared journey, and the values they hold in common.

“Kia and Rafael Nadal have shared a spirit of determination and a passion for the sport of tennis since we first joined hands in 2004,” said Ho Sung Song, President and CEO at Kia Corporation. “As we set out on a new chapter of our journey together, Kia will continue to build on our partnership with Rafael Nadal to bring positive inspiration to fans and young athletes around the world.”

“I would like to thank the Kia family for their enduring support and friendship throughout our 21 years together,” said Rafael Nadal. “Our partnership began when I was very young and has lasted over two decades, a powerful statement of our shared values. Going forward, I am sure we will continue to work together and inspire each other toward growth and innovation. The future awaits for both and we will work the future for the next generation both on and off the courts.”

Prior to the ceremony, a junior tennis program with Korea’s top 20 junior players was held yesterday at Tenez Park in Walkerhill Hotel. An exclusive tennis clinic was conducted by coaches from the Rafa Nadal Academy, where two players with outstanding performances were selected to participate in the High Performance Tennis Junior Camp in Spain next year.

Later today, a special event will be held for tennis fans and influencers to commemorate the new journey of Kia and Nadal. The fans, selected through a social media challenge, will have the opportunity to meet Rafa in person and discover insights into his life, career, and the inspiration he gained from tennis through a Q&A session.

Finally, a pop-up event is being held at Kia Unplugged Ground until 9 November, allowing customers to relive Kia and Rafa’s partnership journey firsthand. The space has been redesigned into a celebratory showcase of both Nadal’s career highlights and the history of his affiliation with Kia. Visitors will also be able to view the spacious Kia PV5 Passenger and EV9 ‘GT-Line’, the vehicle that Nadal personally drives.

Kia has been a long supporter of the game of tennis through its various sports marketing activities over the years. Earlier this year, the company partnered with the Australian Open as the Major Partner of AO25 for the 24th consecutive year, further extending its track record as the longest-running major partner in the history of the tournament.

On-the-road from £59,985, reduced by £2,690 for new model

UK order books open and customer deliveries start from today

Kia has announced UK pricing and specifications for the new EV6 GT, the fastest accelerating car Kia has ever produced and a reimagination of the brand’s first dedicated high-performance EV model. A significant mid-life upgrade makes the new model more dynamic, more refined, and more ‘GT’ than before, with a greater breadth of abilities and improved driver engagement.

As well as integrating several new technologies and upgrades over its predecessor; the new EV6 GT also benefits from the wealth of design and interior updates seen most recently across the wider EV6 line-up. Starting at £59,985 (a £2,690 reduction in its on-the-road price), the new EV6 GT brings with it more power, more kit and improved driving dynamics, at a more affordable price point.

The revised model features a refreshed exterior design, with a striking new light signature and dynamic aesthetic, improved battery performance and driving dynamics, and a broader range of convenience features. Powered by a new 84kWh battery pack (8.5% bigger than the previous generation EV6 GT battery), it boasts a range of up to 279 miles* on a charge based on the WLTP ‘combined’ standard.

Flexing its muscles as a performance-oriented grand tourer, the EV6 GT adopts wide-ranging powertrain improvements over its predecessor. Powered by an all-wheel drive, dual-motor drivetrain, the GT is now capable of producing up to 641bhp and 770Nm of torque – an increase of 64bhp (+11%) and 30Nm (+4%) over its predecessor. This allows the GT to complete the 0-62mph sprint in just 3.5 seconds, on to a top speed of 161mph.

Along with conspicuous neon green brake callipers front and rear, neon green piping throughout the interior, and a neon green ‘GT’ button on the steering wheel, the new model boasts various premium and performance-focused improvements. A first for Kia, the EV6 GT now features Virtual Gear Shift technology, simulating a six-speed paddle-operated transmission. When activated, this provides drivers with new visual, audible and tactile cues to make the car more engaging and enjoyable to drive, and its performance capabilities more approachable.

The upgraded model also features an enhanced ‘GT Mode’, a dedicated drive mode activated using the neon green button on the steering wheel. This sharpens up steering responses and unleashes the full, untapped potential of the EV6, with maximum power and torque at the driver’s disposal. GT Mode also changes the theme of the 12.3-inch driver display screen, with exclusive neon green details and a new font for the speed and range readouts.

Beyond its headline performance attributes, a true grand tourer must also be able to travel long distances in comfort and relative ease; characteristics already seen on the regular EV6, which have transitioned over to the GT variant. One key change here is its subtly retuned suspension, which softens the ride for greater comfort at a cruise, while retaining the car’s stability and keen handling.

The EV6, first launched in 2021, was the first Kia EV built on the brand’s industry-changing E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform), which allowed for 800-volt ultra-rapid charging capability. At a 350kW charging station, the new EV6 GT will be able to top up from 10-to-80% in just 18 minutes; keeping charging stops to a minimum.

When developing the new EV6 GT, Kia’s engineers placed particular emphasis on NVH (Noise, Vibration and Handling), ensuring the new GT’s greater dynamism was also matched by enhanced smoothness and cruising comfort. Road noise has been decreased over its predecessor with semi-decoupler floor carpeting and sound absorbing tyres, as well as sound absorbing materials throughout. Improved aerodynamics reduce wind noise, further quietening the cabin.

Goes further, charges faster
The new EV6 GT offers a range of up to 279 miles* on a single charge (16 miles more than the previous EV6 GT). Thanks to cutting-edge 800V technology, even with the new, larger battery pack the EV6 GT offers a peak charging performance of 258kW (+8% compared to the earlier EV6’s 239kW peak), and can be recharged from 10-to-80% in as little as 18 minutes**. The battery is also 1kg lighter than that found in the earlier model, despite being larger.

Improved driver engagement, including Virtual Gear Shift
For the first time on any Kia vehicle, the EV6 GT is equipped with Virtual Gear Shift, simulating a six-speed paddle operated transmission, featuring a rev counter and limiter. Paired with Active Sound Design and a redesigned ‘GT’ cluster theme, Virtual Gear Shift gives audible, tactile and visual cues as to when to change up as users work up through the gears.

As well as the re-imagined ‘GT Mode’, the new EV6 GT also features a customisable ‘MyDrive’ GT drive mode, which can be personalised to configure an ideal vehicle setup.

Kia’s new Connected Car navigation cockpit
Echoing the significant infotainment upgrade seen across the entire EV6 line-up, the new EV6 GT benefits from Kia’s next-generation infotainment system and connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC). This offers expanded over-the-air update software, access to the Kia Connect store, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Kia’s digital key 2.0 and fingerprint recognition technology, as well as a more seamless and smooth infotainment experience overall.

Updated interior, materials and finish
As with the standard EV6, the new EV6 GT’s interior has received a significant overhaul, with new materials throughout. The previous glossy piano black materials have been replaced with a brushed metal-effect finish, reducing the accumulation of fingerprint smudges throughout the cabin. Neon-green inserts and accents are prominent throughout, emphasising its GT character, along with front, electrically powered bucket seats, ensuring maximum support for the driver and front passenger. The GT also retains the same, or better, occupant comfort and ergonomics than the standard EV6.

Kia has revealed UK pricing and specifications for the new EV9 GT, the most powerful three-row Kia vehicle ever. The EV9 GT combines power, performance and driver engagement in a practical and versatile three-row SUV package, creating an electric ‘grand tourer’ halo model for families.

High-performance GT powertrain
The dual-motor, all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain endows the EV9 GT with 502bhp across a wide power band (3,800-8,000rpm), with torque totalling 740Nm (from 0-5,600rpm). The car can accelerate from 0-to-62mph in just 4.6 seconds, on to a top speed of 136mph.

Its ‘grand touring’ capabilities are assured thanks to its 99.8 kWh battery pack, enabling a WLTP ‘combined’ range of up to 280 miles on a single charge*. Its 800-volt fast charging architecture enables the EV9 GT to charge from 10-to-80% in 24 minutes from a 350kW DC fast charger. The car, like all Kia EVs, is supported by Kia Charge, the brand’s network which provides access to more than 800,000 charging points in 28 European countries. The EV9 GT is Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capable, enabling the vehicle to power external devices.

The EV9 GT offers an exhilarating drive with comfort and enjoyment for everyone on board, while maintaining the versatility for which the conventional EV9 is prized by owners all around the world. Over and above the conventional EV9, the GT’s added power is supported by Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS) as standard, as well as a Road Preview System to detect and react to changing road surfaces. Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) and dedicated ‘GT’ Drive Modes also amp up the EV9 GT’s exciting and sporty character.

Purposeful design, inside and out
The EV9 GT features unique exterior and interior elements, highlighted by neon accents on the GT-exclusive steering wheel and sports seats.
In the UK, the EV9 GT is available with a choice of six paint colours. White Pearl is offered as standard, while customers can specify Aurora Red, Panthera Metal, Midnight Black, Shadow Grey or Pacific Blue as an option. Exclusive to the GT, the interior is trimmed in dark grey and black faux leather and suede, with neon green accents.

Front-seat occupants can enjoy Kia’s Premium Relaxation Seats, which tilt back to a comfortable, supportive position when the car is parked – ideal for a power nap while the car rapid charges, for instance. In the rear of the cabin, second-row occupants can enjoy all the space and practicality afforded to them by the standard three-seat bench layout. Utilising the space and practicality of the EV9, the EV9 GT will also be available with an optional six-seat layout, with new ‘relaxation seat’ functionality for the second row seats – unique to the GT.

Auto-folding and sliding second-row seats

The three rows of seats can comfortably accommodate up to six or seven people (depending on seat layout chosen), with the vehicle maintaining an elevated and commanding position on the road. The vehicle also features a towing capacity of up to 2,500kg.

Enhanced ‘grand touring’ capabilities and driver engagement
The EV9 GT is positioned as a high-performance electric ‘grand tourer’ for families. It’s a practical, versatile SUV in all conditions, which – when the mood takes the driver – can be turned into a more exciting and engaging machine at the push of a button, or the flick of a paddle. Despite the added performance on offer, Kia’s development teams have sought to maintain high levels of comfort for all occupants throughout the EV9 GT’s creation, mindful of the car’s intended use.

Different drive modes can be selected via a button on the steering wheel. The Normal, Eco, Sport, My Drive, and Terrain modes can be easily toggled by the driver depending on the conditions or desired driving style, with the shock damping, steering and brake feel optimised for each mode. It’s the neon green GT button on the steering wheel which enables the car’s exclusive GT Mode. This unleashes the car’s full performance potential and turns it into a true socket rocket for covering ground rapidly and comfortably.

The EV9 GT is fitted with a new Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS) system as standard. ECS provides excellent ride comfort and driving stability through optimal suspension control and adapts to each of the car’s different drive modes. ‘Eco’ and ‘Normal’ driving modes, for instance, soften the car’s suspension to ensure maximum comfort for occupants.

Ride comfort and stability are supported by a standard-fit Road Preview System, which uses advanced sensors and the front camera to analyse road surface conditions ahead. This enables the car to detect and react to potholes and broken surfaces, for improved shock absorption and ride comfort.

Befitting its high-performance attributes, the EV9 GT has GT-exclusive Virtual Gear Shift (VGS), as seen on the new EV6 GT. VGS simulates a six-speed paddle operated transmission and features a rev counter and limiter. The driver can use the paddles on either side of the steering wheel to manually shift through the gears for an elevated sense of driving engagement. Combined with VGS, the car’s Active Sound Design (ASD) system and a ‘GT’ instrument cluster give audible, tactile and visual cues as to when to change up a gear. VGS doesn’t just need to be applied in ‘GT’ mode, however – it also operates in ‘Normal’, ‘Sport’ and ‘MyDrive’ modes, for greater driver engagement in all road driving conditions. An electronic Limited Slip Differential (e-LSD) with dynamic torque vectoring aids cornering stability.

The following driver engagement and powertrain features are fitted as standard to all EV9 GT models:

Regenerative braking paddle shifter with iPedal 3.0

Virtual Gear Shift

Drive Mode Select (Normal, Eco, Sport, MyDrive), GT Drive & MyDrive Modes, Terrain Mode (Mud, Snow, Sand)

Driver Mode Integrated Control

Electronic Controlled Suspension, Road Preview System

Electric limited slip differential (eLSD)

Active Sound Design

Heat Pump

800V ultra-fast charging technology

Dual-motor, AWD powertrain (producing 502bhp and 740Nm)

On-board technology for comfort, convenience, safety and security
The EV9 GT is equipped as standard with a staggering array of features to support the comfort, convenience, safety and security of everyone on board.

Up front, the driver instrument display features GT-exclusive graphics through a triple panoramic display, and drivers can also keep tabs on the road ahead via the customisable head-up display. All passengers can enjoy the unique ambient lighting scheme, as well as the 14-speaker Meridian® Premium Sound System.

First seen on the Kia Concept EV9 in November 2021, and subsequently offered on the standard EV9 in various global markets, the Kia EV9 GT features a digital grille. A reinterpretation of the iconic Kia ‘Tiger Nose’, the digital grille features small Star Map LED lights and a unique lighting pattern. This pattern can also be personalised by the owner with additional lighting configurations available for purchase via the Kia Connect store. The new digital grille lights are flanked either side by the slim vertical LED headlights, giving the new EV9 GT an imposing, yet even more futuristic appearance, differentiating it from other EV9 variants.

Connectivity is built into the EV9 GT from launch. Over-the-air (OTA) updates make new digital grille lighting patterns, content and features available, easily downloaded through the Kia app.

The Kia app also offers a range of connected features for the EV9 GT that enhance the user experience, such as remote climate control, remote battery conditioning and scheduled climate control. OTA updates are available for every system in the car, with a primary focus on maintenance updates to ensure the vehicle has the latest technology.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enable EV9 GT customers to mirror the functionality of their iOS and Android smartphones in a simplified and convenient manner without the hassle of cables.

Europe-wide rollout of the app started in May

Kia Connect, Kia Charge, MyKia, Kia Warranty Book, and Kia Owner’s Manual apps merge into a single, user-friendly ecosystem

New features enhance connectivity, charging, and vehicle management

Kia App available for download in the UK

Kia Europe has today launched the new Kia App, designed to simplify and enhance the Kia ownership experience across the continent. Europe has become the first regional pilot outside Korea, showcasing the company’s commitment to developing further digital solutions for its customers.

“The new Kia App is more than just a digital tool; it is a gateway to a seamless and intelligent mobility experience,” said Marc Hedrich, President and CEO of Kia Europe. “By merging multiple services into one powerful app, we are making everyday interactions with Kia vehicles smarter, more efficient, and fully connected to our customers’ lifestyles.”

The Kia App was recently recognised with the 2025 iF Design Award for the Mobile Application UI Design, highlighting its seamless integration and user-friendly interface. By consolidating multiple services and platforms, the app offers users easy access to Kia’s offerings while delivering a consistent and intuitive design experience.

A unified platform for Kia owners
The Kia App integrates five of Kia’s existing apps into a single, streamlined experience: Kia Connect, Kia Charge, MyKia, Kia Warranty Book, and Kia Owner’s Manual. With one sign-in, users gain access to a comprehensive suite of features that enhances connectivity, charging, and vehicle maintenance. The new frontend delivers a refreshed, intuitive design tailored to owners’ everyday needs, while the backend infrastructure remains stable and secure. Most importantly, all customer data remains securely hosted in Europe.

The Kia App offers a wide range of key features, including:

Remote Vehicle Control: The following Kia connectivity functions can be controlled through the new app: Start the vehicle, adjust the air conditioning or heating, lock and unlock doors, operate windows, lights, and the horn, and check the charging status remotely. Some functions, such as starting the car remotely, may only be available on certain electrified models.

Navigation and Insights: Kia drivers can plan their route within the app including recommended charging stops for EVs. The defined route can then be sent to the in-car navigation. Beside the search for Points of Interest (POI) and detailed Driving Insights, the driver can additionally use connected car data to generate a driving safety score. This service for reasonable driving does not only increase the safety of road users but also motivates for sustainable and efficient usage of the car.

Charging Management: The new Kia app provides all functionalities of Kia Charge, the European charging service with more than 960,000 charge points across 27 European countries. Beside locating and filtering charging stations based on personal need and route planning, charging sessions can remotely be activated and stopped. Also the management of the Kia Charge contract and tariff, and view of the personal charging history can be done through the app.

Maintenance and Service: The new Kia app also supports managing the Kia vehicle. So, the owner can directly book a service appointment with a Kia dealer or workshop in the app, can access the digital service history as well as the warranty booklet and owner’s manual.

Made for the future
Designed with a focus on real-world ownership, the Kia App facilitates a seamless transition for current users. By logging into the app with their existing Kia account credentials, users will have all data, personal information, and settings automatically transferred from the old apps to the Kia App. The platform also enables shared access, allowing co-drivers to benefit from the app’s features under a single account.

Looking ahead, Kia plans to expand the app’s capabilities to better serve business customers and fleet managers with tools tailored to Kia’s upcoming Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV): the PV5. Additional services, such as flexible mobility solutions via Kia Drive, are also currently in development.

As the Kia Connect, Kia Charge, MyKia, Kia Warranty Book, and Kia Owner’s Manual apps will be phased out in the coming months, the company advises its customers to download the Kia App from the App Store or Google Play Store. The new Kia App is live, active and available to download in the UK.

Highway Driving Assist 2 delivers strong performance across ‘assistance competence’ and ‘safety backup’ categories

2025 grading marks the first time a Kia model has achieved the top score in this evaluation

The Kia EV3 has been awarded the highest possible rating of “Very Good” in the assisted driving test of Europe’s independent vehicle safety authority, Euro NCAP. The test evaluated the model’s Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), a system that combines real-time driver monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and lane centring.

The EV3 was assessed in two categories: ‘assistance competence’ and ‘safety backup’, scoring 74 and 88 out of 100 points, respectively. Resulting in a total score of 162 points, the model secured the top rating, making it Kia’s first model, as well as Hyundai Motor Group’s first model, to achieve this grade.

Euro NCAP noted that the EV3’s HDA 2 balances a high level of vehicle assistance with driver engagement, supporting the driver in a range of real-world scenarios, including changing lanes, maintaining lane position at various speeds, and coming to a stop if the driver becomes unresponsive. Combined with excellent safety back-up, the model offers “very good” motorway assistance.

“This excellent outcome reflects Kia’s commitment to delivering advanced technologies that enhance driver convenience and passenger safety,” said Pablo Martinez Masip, Vice President Product and Marketing of Kia Europe and COO of Kia Connect Europe. “The EV3’s performance in the Euro NCAP assisted driving test draws attention to the capabilities of Highway Driving Assist 2 and serves as a milestone for Hyundai Motor Group.”

The EV3 is Kia’s dedicated, high-volume electric car for the compact SUV market, offering the versatility and affordability to be the main car of the household. The model has been named as the 2025 World Car of the Year at the 2025 World Car Awards. In addition, the vehicle has won numerous awards in the UK including, most recently, ‘Best EV Crossover’ at the TopGear.com Electric Awards 2025, and ‘UK Car of the Year 2025’ at The UK Car of the Year Awards.

Now available in Europe, the EV3 features a segment-leading range of up to 375 miles* and an innovative interior design that optimises space, comfort, and accessibility. To expand the range of choice for customers, Kia plans to introduce an all-wheel-drive variant.

‘The Kia Electric Experience’ nationwide events bring customers their very first chance to see the full Kia EV range, including the EV4 and EV5 for the first time, alongside EV3, EV6 and EV9

Kia experts will introduce EV4 and EV5 to the growing Kia EV range, while helping to answer questions about going electric

Events move around the UK to each Kia dealership, running from 08 July to 02 November 2025

Customers can reserve their space and find their local event online: https://www.kia.com/uk/about/kia-electric-experience/

Kia UK is continuing its innovative dealer based ‘The Kia Electric Experience’ events this year, bringing customers their very first opportunity to get hands-on experience with the full Kia EV model line-up, including the brand new EV4 and EV5 fully electric models.

The Kia Electric Experience events run from 08 July to 02 November 2025, with tandem events moving across the UK between Kia dealerships.

The Kia EV4 and EV5 are Kia’s newest additions to the growing range of Kia fully electric models, with the events providing exclusive and very early access to these models for customers. Each event includes an unveil show followed by an exclusive presentation and the opportunity to look around the vehicles in detail.

In addition to EV4 and EV5, the Kia EV3 – the ‘2025 UK Car of the Year’ and ‘2025 World Car of the Year’ – will be showcased alongside the EV6 and EV9. Each all-electric car offers customers a distinctive choice, and the varied model line-up highlights Kia’s ability to offer an electric car for everyone. The events also offer the opportunity to speak to experts about making the switch to an EV.

The Kia Electric Experience dedicated website details local event timings for each dealership and is exclusively where customers should reserve their place to attend: https://www.kia.com/uk/about/kia-electric-experience/. Spaces are limited, with reservations made on a first come, first served basis.

The Kia EV4
Kia unveiled the EV4 in both hatchback and saloon form at the brand’s EV Day event in Tarragona, Spain, in February 2025. Versatile and practical, the model will be offered to UK customers in both body styles, representing a fresh approach to the traditional aesthetics of the hatchback and saloon segments.

Similar to EV3, the EV4 is built on Kia’s 400V Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and will benefit from a choice of 58.3kWh or 81.4kWh battery packs, offering a range of up to 391 miles on a single charge, while the vehicle is powered by a front-mounted 150kW electric motor. A series of aerodynamic enhancements, including a full undercover, help to smooth airflow underneath the vehicle and result in an ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.23 Cd.

The EV4 additionally offers a variety of convenience and technology features traditionally seen in more premium segments. This includes remote Over-The-Air updates, 30-inches of combined widescreen display, and cutting-edge in-car content streaming and connectivity services, including YouTube and Netflix. The vehicle also offers two dedicated vehicle modes to be used when stationary, Rest Mode and Theatre Mode. When in Rest Mode, the driver and front passenger can recline the relaxation seats and utilise the mood lamp to create a serene and peaceful atmosphere. When in Theatre Mode, the vehicle uses the wide-screen display, interior ambient lighting and eight-speaker sound system to enjoy an exceptional viewing experience.

The EV4 places a strong focus on occupant comfort, space and convenience through features such as a rotating armrest, a sliding table console, maximised seating space in the first and second rows, and largest-in-class luggage space of 490 litres (435 litres for the hatchback). Intuitive-to-use physical buttons, dynamic welcome lighting and ambient lighting further enhance the user experience.

As with all Kia EVs, the EV4 is designed with safety at the heart of its philosophy. This includes the latest ADAS functionality including ‘Drive Wise’ advanced driver-assistance system which detects hazardous situations through a combination of cameras and radars, and assists the driver in safe driving and manoeuvring. The vehicle body has been manufactured to withstand any type of collision, ensuring maximum occupant safety in both rows.

The Kia EV5
The Kia EV5 is also built on Kia’s all-electric E-GMP platform. It introduces a new era of electric mobility with a distinctive and stylish SUV design to offer a practical and versatile interior space for five people. Shaped by the brand’s unique design philosophy ‘Opposites United’, EV5 houses the latest safety and advanced technologies.

The EV5’s interior completely reimagines the vehicle’s interior space. Drawing inspiration from the larger EV9, it offers an extensive space that is closer in concept and execution to a home ‘lounge’ than a traditional car cabin.

The long-range model will feature an 81.4kWh battery and 160kW front motor. The driving range will be tailored to meet market demands. The EV5 battery has been engineered to function effectively throughout all four seasons, even in extreme hot and cold weather. An advanced heat pump system is available to manage the battery’s temperature, ensuring consistent performance regardless of external conditions.

Minimising fatigue and enhancing driving comfort, a regenerative braking system along with an i-Pedal system allows drivers to both slow down and accelerate using a single pedal.

The EV5’s spacious, light, well-ventilated cabin is equipped with the connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) infotainment system and supports over-the-air (OTA) software updates. It incorporates a Panoramic Wide Display, which combines a 12.3-inch cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment system, along with a 5.3-inch climate control display.

Simple-to-navigate menus provide improved usability of EV-specific functions and enable drivers to monitor aspects such as range and EV charging at a glance.
Customers can keep their EV5 constantly updated and upgraded beyond the standard features, via the Kia Connect Store that offers a wide array of options.

The Kia EV5 is equipped with an array of the latest active safety technologies, the brand’s latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and seven airbags in total.

The model comes with Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2) to help drivers maintain distance, stay centred in the lane, change lanes, and adjust lateral positioning.
Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2) enables the SUV to park itself without the need for driver intervention, whether in or out of the vehicle. It also features Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) to prevent collisions with oncoming vehicles when reversing.

UK specifications and pricing for both the EV4 and EV5 will be revealed in early Q3.

Leaders in electrification
Kia’s electric experience events have helped introduce many customers to its latest electric cars over the past few years. The Kia EV3, EV6, EV9 and Niro EV were each taken across the nation in their inaugural sales years, helping customers get hands-on experience with the cars at a very early stage and helping to answer general questions about going electric. Last year’s EV3 Electric Experience events welcomed more than 11 thousand reservations to attend, clearly indicating their value and the interest in Kia electric cars.

Kia strives to support customer and public knowledge about the transition to electric cars, having previously run ‘Discover EV with Kia’ events in early 2024, giving expert advice to people who had queries or concerns about going electric.

Kia’s ‘Plan S’ strategy is driving the brand’s transformation into a ‘Sustainable Mobility Solutions Provider’, with plans to have launched 9 EV models in the UK by 2030.
