The Emira is a mid-engine premium sports car that perfectly embodies the ongoing transformation of the Lotus business and brand. Now, Lotus unveils the all-new Emira V6 SE, the latest addition to the Emira line-up. The new model joins the existing range, which already includes the Turbo SE.

At the same time, Lotus introduces a number of refinements across the Emira range. These include two new colours – EOS Green and Purple Haze metallic – and further optimisation of the cooling and transmission. In addition to the new Emira V6 SE and Turbo SE, the Emira Turbo joins the line-up as the entry point to the model range.

Emira V6 SE
The new Emira V6 SE builds on the pure driving pleasure Lotus is known for. The beloved six-cylinder powertrain of the Emira remains unchanged: a supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine with 400 hp, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with LSD (Limited Slip Differential) as standard or an optional automatic transmission, allowing for a 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint in 4.3 seconds. The iconic V6 powertrain has been refined for even more emotional engagement, including the introduction of a new compression mount for the manual gearbox, resulting in more precise gear changes.

Also, optimised damper calibration and subtle adjustments in wheel alignment provide sharper handling and increased ride comfort. The car has two defined chassis and suspension settings. Tour is tuned for everyday road use, delivering the optimum blend of Lotus dynamic performance and handling with a more comfortable ride. Sports provides a slightly stiffer suspension set-up for enhanced dynamic capability and feel. Hydraulic steering provides excellent feedback for the driver.

The Emira V6 SE is finished in Zinc Grey as standard and sets itself apart with exclusive features such as specific V6 SE badges, the extended Black Pack, 20-inch forged alloy wheels, red brake callipers and a luxurious interior finished with alcantara and sport pedals. The Emira V6 SE stands out with a high degree of personalisation, featuring 15 exterior colours and seven interior themes.

This is complemented by a choice of four brake calliper finishes and eight wheel designs, allowing for a uniquely tailored expression of the car’s character. Prices for the Emira V6 SE start at £96.500* in UK.

Better than ever
Simultaneously with the introduction of the V6 SE, Lotus provides the existing Emira models with a series of technical enhancements that improve both track performance and daily driving comfort. The cooling system has been optimised by routing the coolant lines differently, providing better flow to both the transmission oil cooler and the main cooling radiator. This results in more cooling and lower vehicle weight. In addition, the air-conditioning control system has been recalibrated to provide a more stable interior climate at high temperatures, and the opening temperature of the engine thermostat has been increased from 65°C to 75°C, improving heating and performance under severe conditions. Finally, the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) has been recalibrated, resulting in faster shift times, improved shift quality and smoother interaction between transmission and driver.

In terms of safety, the Lotus Emira is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) as standard. On top of that, there is the option of an Extended Co-Driver Pack for extra support. Standard features on the model include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) and Fatigue Detection. The optional Extended Co-Driver Pack adds Adaptive Cruise Control (only compatible with automatic transmission), Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Door Opening Warning and High Beam Assist. All these systems are designed to enhance safety without compromising the sheer driving pleasure that characterises the Emira. A user-friendly menu allows the driver to set the desired level of assistance entirely according to his or her preferences.

Emira Turbo
The Emira Turbo marks the entry point to the Emira lineup, designed for everyday usability while preserving the unmistakable Lotus driving thrill. It is powered by the same 4-cylinder twin-scroll turbo engine and 8-speed DCT gearbox as found in the Turbo SE, both sourced from technology partner AMG and achieves a 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint in 4.4 seconds. The Emira Turbo features both Tour- and Sport driving modes, and high-performance components such as double wishbones, an integrated rear spoiler and electro-hydraulic power steering.

As standard, the Emira Turbo is richly equipped with modern safety technologies such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Blind Spot Warning and Fatigue Detection. In addition, driver comfort is provided by 12-way electrically adjustable seats with memory, a 190W audio system, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Optionally, customers can choose packages such as the Convenience Pack, Extended Co-Driver Pack and Extended Lower Black Pack, which further enhance both functionality and appearance. Racing Line
Finally, Lotus launches the Racing Line. For enthusiasts who want to give their Emira an extra sporty look, Lotus introduces the Racing Line design option, available on the Turbo SE and V6 SE. Racing Line adds a subtle, lower pinstripe in yellow, red or silver, perfectly matched to the colour of the brake callipers – the mirror caps get the same accent colour.

Racing Line badges with a matching accent, high-gloss black wheels and a black and silver exterior logo complete the dynamic look. Inside, it is further enhanced by a special interior badge and stitching in the chosen accent colour, creating a perfect match.

Lotus honours one of the greatest drivers of all time with the introduction of the Emira Clark Edition, in collaboration with the Jim Clark Trust. This exclusive model, limited to just 60 cars for selected markets, will make its world debut leading at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.

The legacy of Jim Clark and Team Lotus is forever etched into the history of motorsport. In 1965, Clark secured the Formula 1 World Championship with Team Lotus and triumphed in the iconic Indianapolis 500 — a remarkable double victory that remains unmatched to this day. That same year, Clark further demonstrated his extraordinary talent with championship victories in Formula 2 and the Tasman Series in Australia and New Zealand, as well as winning touring car races in a Lotus Cortina.

This unparalleled success story serves as the inspiration behind the creation of the Lotus Emira Clark Edition — a fitting tribute to a driver whose achievements continue to define excellence and innovation in racing.

Exclusive design and interior
The body of the exclusive Emira is finished in Clark Racing Green with a contrasting black roof, silver mirrors and an iconic yellow racing stripe flared around the front end, inspired by Clark’s 1965 Indianapolis 500-winning Lotus Type 38. A machined aluminium fuel filler cap with a blue anodised centre and yellow exhaust pipes further enhance the exclusive look. April 21 marks a historic milestone in the Lotus and Formula 1 history books—the 40th anniversary of Ayrton Senna’s first Grand Prix victory. To honour this iconic moment, the same Lotus 97T Formula 1 car that Senna drove to his legendary win at the 1985 Portuguese Grand Prix, will return to the Estoril circuit for the first time since that triumph. Driving the car will be his nephew, Bruno Senna, commemorating one of F1’s most defining performances.

The event unites two major celebrations: the 75th anniversary of Formula 1 and the pivotal role Lotus played in shaping its legacy. It serves as a tribute not only to Ayrton Senna but also to the engineers, designers and all the drivers who propelled Lotus to racing greatness.

Ayrton Senna’s victory at Estoril was a masterclass in wet-weather driving, with the Brazilian lapping nearly the entire field to claim the first of his 41 Formula 1 wins. Senna also regarded this performance as the greatest of his career, and dismissed the widely held belief that his 1993 Donington win was his finest drive: Senna was quoted saying: “No way! I had traction control there. It was a good win but compared with Estoril ‘85 it was nothing.” 

The Lotus 97T itself was a pioneering race car and was the first to feature vertical aerodynamic devices behind the front wheels for airflow management, which eventually developed into the highly sophisticated bargeboards, which remain in modern F1 aerodynamics.

The tribute event solidifies the connection between Lotus and Senna’s remarkable rise in Formula 1, celebrating the golden era of turbocharged racing and the spirit of innovation that defined both the driver and the team.

With the arrival of the new model year, Lotus has revamped the line-up for its Eletre hyper-SUV and Emeya hyper-GT. Thanks to a revised model range, Lotus now offers customers more convenience, clarity and tailored customisation in configuring their perfect Eletre or Emeya. Key novelty is the ‘600’ and ‘900’ model names, that clearly reflects the electrifying power output of the new models. At the same time, legendary equipment level references like GT and GT SE from Lotus’ rich heritage return to the present.

New line-up
Effective immediately, Lotus offers the Eletre hyper-SUV and Emeya hyper-GT as ‘600’ or ‘900’, a reference to the two power output versions of both models. Subsequently Lotus pairs those new versions with clearly identifiable, predefined equipment levels containing popular options and choices. Meaning customers can now express a specific preference for pronounced sportiness or rather a more luxurious and technology led specification.

Recently, the Lotus Emira sports car preceded the Eletre and Emeya by referencing trim level from the legendary past back into the current range, introducing the Emira Turbo SE. Lotus now continues that strategy with the completely new line-up for the Eletre and Emeya, giving legendary naming’s like GT and GT SE a modern new appearance.

As a result, the Lotus Eletre is now available in six clearly defined trim levels: Eletre 600, 600 GT, 600 GT SE and 600 SPORT SE, as well as 900 SPORT and the Eletre 900 SPORT CARBON as the absolute flagship. The Lotus Emeya follows the same nomenclature. Complementing these well-defined trim levels, customers can subsequently further customise their car to their own personal taste thanks to a wide selection of optional packages, individual options and colours. Although much has changed and has been improved for the new model year, the unrivalled performance of the Lotus Eletre and Emeya has remained untouched, resulting in the two models still being the benchmark in their respective segments. As a ‘600’, both feature a 450 kW (612 hp) all-electric dual-motor powertrain and all-wheel drive as standard, a combination that guarantees stunning performance. With a 0-62 mph sprint in just 4.15 seconds for the Emeya 600 GT (Eletre 600: 4.5 sec) and a top speed of 155 mph (Eletre: 159 mph) as just some striking examples.

Things can always go faster, and the new Eletre and Emeya ‘900’ provide unmistakable evidence, representing superlatives in terms of performance. Both rely on a 675 kW (918 hp) strong dual-motor powertrain, providing the Emeya 900 with an acceleration from a standstill to 62 mph in a stunning 2.78 seconds (Eletre 900: 2.95 sec) and a top speed of 155 mph (Eletre 900: 159 mph).

No less impressive are their electrifying range and charging performances, which boost the Eletre and Emeya to the top performers in their respective segments. With a maximum range of 379 miles (WLTP; Eletre: 373 miles) they are also ideally suited for long electric road trips. And when it is time for a charging stop, the Emeya, for example, also proves itself as an absolute top performer in this area. Thanks to its 800V battery technology with Advanced Lotus Hyper Charging it can be charged from 10-80% in around 14 minutes (under perfect conditions) using a 400kW DC charger (Eletre: 20 minutes from 10-80% at a 350kW DC charger), giving it the status of one of the fastest-charging EVs in the world.

Lotus has revamped its Emira line-up to include the new, more powerful Emira Turbo SE next to the Emira V6, both building on the strong foundations of the previous First Editions that have captivated driving enthusiasts around the world. The Emira Turbo SE features enhanced levels of performance and design whilst building on the attributes the automotive world has come to expect, including its impressive supercar-like appearance, striking lines and thrilling dynamic performance, delivering a unique blend of ride and handling plus outstanding aerodynamics.

A name from the past reignited
The new Emira Turbo SE naming stems from Lotus’s rich history. The Emira Turbo SE not only reflects the 2-litre turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine but is also a tribute to an era in which the turbo was first implemented. Specifically in 1980, with the launch of the Turbo Esprit, which was one of the early production sports cars to use this technology.

Further, the Emira Turbo SE refers to an era when SE was originally an optional ‘Special Equipment’ package, first introduced on the Type 14 Elite. It was also used with the Type 26 Elan, Elan SE Turbo, Lotus Cortina and the Elan S3, Elan S4 and Plus 2. In addition, Lotus has historically used the SE designation to identify higher output and more standard equipment, with the Esprit Turbo SE, Excel SE, Elan SE and the Europa SE as examples of that philosophy. To stay true to the Lotus ‘SE’ naming, the Emira Turbo SE adopts ‘SE’ to reflect increased levels of performance and equipment.

Increased performance
Powered by a 4-cylinder variable geometry turbocharged engine* with an 8-speed DCT gearbox, both sourced from technology partner AMG, the Emira Turbo SE has an output that has increased to 400 bhp (+40 bhp), with a torque increase of 50 Nm to 480 Nm. The new performance figures equate to a higher top speed of 290 km/h (+ 18 km/h) 180 mph (+11 mph) and an even faster acceleration time of 0-100km/h (0-62 mph) in just 4.0 seconds. Taking Lotus’ Emira philosophy ‘For The Drivers’ to an even higher level.

SE: Special Equipment
The Emira Turbo SE comes with the Lotus Drivers Pack as standard including Sports suspension settings, uprated cross drilled and ventilated two-piece brake discs and launch control as standard. In addition to performance enhancements the Emira Turbo SE also features a variety of core design features. These include newly finished 20” V-spoke forged Satin Grey wheels as standard as well as Zinc Grey paint, Alcantara headliner, red brake callipers, new ‘Emira Turbo SE’ badging, new black Lotus branding and black Lotus badging and tailpipes.

Emira V6
Emira customers can of course still opt for the Lotus Emira V6 with its 400bhp charge-cooled and supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine*, which is matched to either a standard six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission. The Emira V6 includes performance features like cross drilled and ventilated two-piece brake discs, Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres, the Touring suspension and a limited slip differential (LSD) for manual models. The Emira sports car range is produced in Lotus’ UK factory in Hethel, like many of its predecessors since 1966. Following an investment of more than £100million, production takes place in a state-of-the-art production facility where recently the 10,000^th Emira rolled of the production line. The 10,000^th Emira built is not just a significant volume achievement – it also represents the fastest build rate of any Lotus model. Capacity at Hethel is now around 5,000 cars a year, compared with around 1,500 units annually a decade ago. Lotus has already built more Emira sports cars than it did Esprit models – a car it produced for almost three decades. Lotus today has unveiled Emeya, the company’s first four-door hyper-GT, in New York City.

Emeya is setting a new benchmark for how a Lotus drives and feels by combining the company’s 75-year expertise in engineering and design, with the latest advanced innovations – bringing drivers an electric car that is exciting to drive and performs exceptionally.

This includes advanced and active aerodynamic features such as the pioneering active front grille, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. All this, combined with a low centre of gravity that Lotus calls ‘hyperstance’, enhances stability when driving, and sets a new standard in the GT segment for ride and handling excellence.

Emeya has an electronically controlled air suspension system. Its advanced onboard sensors feel the road 1,000 times a second and automatically adjust the vehicle to ensure the smoothest ride. 

The top specification model for Emeya features Lotus’ high-power dual motor set-up that delivers a top speed of more than 155mph (250km/h) and can accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in under 2.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric GTs in the world.

To provide customers with confidence wherever they’re travelling, the performance of Emeya is complemented by Lotus’ market-leading charging capabilities. It can add 93 miles (150km) of range with approximately five minutes of charge using a 350kW DC fast charger, as well as boost range up to 80% within 18 minutes.

Emeya has been consciously designed with advanced sustainable materials that are also sustainably sourced, to reduce its carbon footprint. This includes a new luxury thread made from repurposed fibres from the fashion industry – as well as PVD aluminium, Alcantara, Nappa leather, and Ultrafabrics PU.

Ensuring that every occupant can enjoy an unrivalled music experience, the Emeya will offer a truly immersive audio system developed with KEF. Emeya’s speaker system will elevate music listening to new levels. It features KEF’s award-winning Uni-Q^® speaker design and Uni-Core space-saving subwoofer enclosure, as well as Dolby Atmos-enabled 3D surround sound – first seen in a Lotus on the Eletre Hyper-SUV.

Captivating driving enthusiasts worldwide since its debut two years ago, the critically acclaimed and award-winning Lotus Emira V6 has secured its rightful place as the most accomplished Lotus sports car ever made. With striking design, astonishing performance and benchmark ride and handling, its supercharged 3.5-litre powerplant matched to a choice of six-speed manual and automatic transmissions delivers a driving experience that could only be from Lotus.

Now, the appeal of this mid-engined two-seater is further enhanced by the addition of a four-cylinder engine which features state-of-the-art technologies to deliver incredible performance and remarkable efficiency. Supplied by technical partner Mercedes-AMG, the all-aluminium, turbocharged 2.0-litre unit is based on the world’s most powerful four-cylinder in series production.

Badged for launch as the Emira First Edition, it has been further developed by Lotus with new intake and exhaust systems, plus a bespoke calibration matched to new transmission shift-mapping. Developing 360bhp (365PS) and 430Nm, this makes it a perfect match to the Emira’s lightweight, strong, stiff, bonded and extruded aluminium chassis structure and aligns to the Lotus ethos of delivering higher performance by reducing mass.

It’s also fitting that, as the final mainstream combustion engine Lotus two-seater, the Emira is the most powerful four-cylinder from Lotus in a rich bloodline of iconic models including the Elise, Esprit, Europa, Elan and Elite. And, at 180bhp/litre, it also has the highest specific power output in the Emira range.

Like the renowned 400bhp supercharged V6, the four-cylinder car delivers all the performance and responsiveness that drivers expect – 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.4 seconds and a 180mph (290km/h) maximum speed – while bringing its own unique character to the Emira range. That character is enhanced by the inherent day-to-day usability and comfort of the smooth and rapid shifting dual-clutch transmission. It also offers the added advantages of lower fuel consumption and a target CO₂ emissions figure of 208g/km (WLTP combined).

Gavan Kershaw, Director, Vehicle Attributes and Product Integrity, Lotus, said: “We’ve meticulously tuned the suspension settings for the 2.0-litre Emira to deliver the superb body and control that’s a Lotus hallmark without the car ever feeling harsh. We’ve calibrated engine and transmission mapping, in tandem with the Drive Modes, to create a refined and relaxed character in Tour, and with incredible launch performance, superb driveability, even quicker throttle response and kickdown in Sport and Track. We’ve also taken the opportunity to refine how the powertrain is linked to the traction and stability control systems to deliver the high-performance feel and connection that Lotus drivers expect.”

Like the Emira V6, the new 2.0-litre car is built in the Chapman Production Centre (CPC) at Hethel, named in honour of the company’s legendary founder and inspiration. However, it starts life at Lotus Advanced Structures in nearby Norwich, where sub-assembly of the lightweight aluminium chassis structure takes place. Combined, these world-class centres of excellence for sports car manufacturing are part of a £100 million investment by Lotus in its UK facilities. Customers in the UK have the option of collecting their Emira from Hethel and, as part of the experience, tour the CPC assembly halls where their car was made.

Powertrain: powerful, responsive, efficient
Designed solely for high-performance applications, the 1,991cc engine features a cylinder block produced using the advanced chill-casting process: compared to conventional sand-casting methods used in high volume applications, this results in a uniform, fine-grained structure which delivers the high strength and durability needed to withstand the high loads generated. Following motorsport practise, the block is also of closed-deck design for maximum stiffness, and instead of conventional cast iron liners, the cylinder bores use a patented low-friction coating to save weight. For the optimal balance of high strength and low weight, both the steel crankshaft and aluminium pistons are forged.

The cylinder head features four valves per cylinder and a 200bar direct injection system. Intake and exhaust cams feature variable valve timing, while on the exhaust side, the valves can be varied between high and low duration. The piezo injectors deliver fuel into the combustion chamber with very high precision, both in terms of the amount of fuel and the spray pattern, resulting in enhanced combustion with reduced emissions. For maximum power, the piezo injectors are joined by the port fuel injectors, mounted directly on the intake side of the cylinder head to deliver the correct amount of petrol needed at full load.

The turbocharger is a ‘twin-scroll’ design, meaning the turbine housing is split into two separate ducts, matched to corresponding ducts in the exhaust manifold. This minimises exhaust gas pulsation interference, helping to improve the efficient exchange of gases in the cylinders. It also ensures that boost pressure builds up more rapidly, and to further enhance responsiveness, the shaft joining the compressor and turbine wheel runs in ultra-low-friction roller bearings. To manage boost pressure most effectively, the wastegate is electronically controlled.

This combination of advanced technologies, together with intake and exhaust systems developed by Lotus and optimised with a unique in-house calibration, ensure this remarkable engine can deliver an astonishing balance of power, torque and efficiency throughout its full operating range. Generating 430Nm from 3,000-5,500rpm and 360bhp (365PS) at 6,600rpm before reaching a maximum speed of 7,200rpm, it ensures an authentic Lotus sports car driving experience while also being refined in day-to-day use.

Sending drive to the rear wheels is Mercedes-AMG’s acclaimed eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) – a first use of the technology by Lotus and fitted exclusively to the Emira. Compared to the six-speed manual and automatic transmissions offered on the Emira V6, the DCT offers even quicker gearchanges with no torque interruption during shifting, enhancing efficiency and shift comfort. Drivers also have the choice of smooth, effortless changes if they leave the car in Drive, or ultra-fast dynamic changes if they control the transmission themselves using the shift lever in the centre console or steering wheel paddles.

Launch control enables the driver to set the car up for optimum acceleration from a standing start by maximising the available traction from the rear wheels and torque from the powertrain. This feature enables consistent, optimal get-aways – time and time again – allowing the driver to fully exploit the Emira’s exhilarating performance.

Vehicle dynamics: agile, intuitive, rewarding
The Emira’s light, stiff, bonded aluminium Lotus Sports Car Architecture gave the vehicle dynamics engineers the perfect platform from which to develop the car’s ride, handling and steering characteristics, all of which set the class benchmark, as every Lotus sports car should. With a torsional stiffness of 26,300Nm/ degree, the chassis contributes to the immediate, precise responses of every system. The Emira features race-derived, lightweight, forged aluminium double-wishbone suspension all round, which delivers the greatest control of the tyre contact patch throughout the suspension’s full range of travel, contributing to the Emira’s exceptional agility and responsiveness.

The introduction of the four-cylinder engine to the Emira range created the opportunity for Lotus to introduce a new, lightweight cast aluminium rear subframe to optimise the packaging of the powerplant within the chassis structure. It’s in place of the steel assembly used on the Emira V6 and contributes to a total weight saving of 12kg. The subframe also houses the new rear suspension.

The electro-hydraulic steering system delivers the pure, truly connected feel fundamental to Lotus sports car DNA, together with speed-dependent efforts, but without the losses created by an engine-driven pump. The immediacy of response to every input the driver makes is amplified by the seating position being almost in the centre of the 2,575mm wheelbase, thanks to the Emira’s mid-engine configuration.

The Eibach springs and Bilstein high-pressure monotube dampers are meticulously tuned to suit the Emira, and offered with different settings depending on whether the customer chooses the Tour or Sport chassis settings. Tour is optimised for road use, offering softer springs and dampers, while Sport is track-focused with stiffer springs and dampers, together with increased camber and toe angles to maximise grip. The anti-roll bar stiffnesses are also bespoke to Emira, and the component on the front axle is now lighter too.

A choice of specially-developed tyres is available on the four-cylinder Emira, which are asymmetrically sized to suit the exacting requirements of steering and traction – 245/35/R20 on the front axle and 295/30/R20 at the rear. Fitted as standard as part of the Tour chassis (and also available as an option with the Sports chassis), the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tyres deliver high performance with enhanced all-weather capability without any compromise to feedback. Offered exclusively as part of the Sports chassis, the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres are designed for extreme track use without compromising ride comfort. Both tyres have ‘LTS’ markings on the side wall to denote the Lotus-approved specification

The braking system provides stopping power commensurate with the new engine’s output, and features lightweight, two-piece, cross-drilled and slotted discs together with four-piston calipers on the front axle. The calipers can be finished in a choice of four colours at no extra cost.

Complementing the changes to the chassis hardware is a completely new calibration for the Electronic Stability Control system. There’s also an e-Diff function which can apply carefully modulated brake pressure to the rear wheels in order to maximise traction by the transfer of torque to the one with the most grip, which is particularly beneficial when accelerating out of slow corners. It also enhances dynamic performance and control in challenging conditions, such as roads covered in snow, rain or mud.

Exterior design: aerodynamically beautiful
The Emira’s design language is a development of the sculpted surfaces and technical detailing which debuted on the all-electric Evija hypercar, and brings unrivalled supercar desirability to the sports car segment. Strikingly beautiful, timeless and unmistakably Lotus, its perfect proportions and athletic, taught, shrink-wrapped form are the very embodiment of  Lotus sports car DNA.

The front is dominated by the full-LED headlights – each with a double ‘blade’ daytime running light signature – and purposeful, angular bonnet ducts. The latter guide airflow over the car, reducing drag, and reinforce the Emira’s performance potential while making a direct visual link to the Evija.

Sculpted doors feature deployable handles, also cutting drag, while the dramatic form pressed into the outer skin blends seamlessly into the intake ducts integrated into the muscular rear haunches. These feed air, via the water-cooled charge cooler, to the engine’s intake system, and also help to cool the engine itself.

The rear of the car features two distinctive gloss black vents, allowing air to flow out from the wheel arches. Beneath, also finished in gloss black, is the rear diffuser, into which the two exhaust pipes and rear number plate are neatly integrated.

As a result of meticulous development using cutting-edge computational fluid dynamics simulations, and further refinement in the wind tunnel, the Emira doesn’t need any active aerodynamic features, and creates passive downforce that’s perfectly balanced between the front and rear axles at all speeds. The result is enhanced grip and handling characteristics which remain constant, precise and predictable.

The Emira can be specified in a range of 13 colours, each one created to heighten the visual impact of the Emira’s dramatic, purposeful form: Hethel Yellow, Magma Red, Vivid Red, Dark Verdant, Seneca Blue, Atlantis Blue, Meridian Blue, Osmium Silver, Nimbus Grey, Shadow Grey, Zinc Grey, Mist White and Cosmos Black.

The optional Black Pack sees a contemporary gloss black finish applied to the roof, cantrails, mirror pods and the Lotus wordmark on the rear clamshell. The exhaust finishers are satin black. The 20-inch, ultra-lightweight forged wheels feature a diamond-cut finish as standard, with silver or gloss black available as options, completing the distinctive look.

Emira inside: driver-focused and pure
Luxurious, spacious and unmistakably driver-focused, the Emira’s interior is beautifully crafted and effortlessly combines rich materials and the latest technologies to deliver levels of comfort, usability and practicality which set new standards for Lotus sports cars.

Ahead of the flat-bottomed steering wheel is a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster, while in the centre of the cockpit is a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, which features integrated navigation* All of the content was designed in-house, making it simple and intuitive to use, while enhancing the driving experience. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity is standard*.

The 10-channel, 560W premium audio system was developed for the Emira in partnership with KEF and features the renowned British brand’s signature Uni-Q^TM technology, which combines tweeter and mid-range into a single, acoustically-optimised unit. Beautifully finished with a distinctive bespoke speaker fret design, Uni-Q covers the entire mid and high-frequency sound spectrum from a single point in space, delivering a more coherent, hyper-realistic sound experience.

The 12-way power-adjust heated seats offer both incredible support for spirited driving as well as superb comfort on long drives, and are offered in Nappa leather in either black, red, ice grey or tan, or in black Alcantara with a choice of contrast stitching in either yellow, red or ice grey. These same materials are also offered on the steering wheel, as an option, with the top dead centre band and stitching available in yellow, red or ice grey. Black Alcantara is also used for the headliner, further enriching the cabin. Behind the two seats is 208-litres of storage, with the rear luggage compartment offering a further 151 litres.

Lotus has held its first ever UK test drives for its hyper-SUV – the Lotus Eletre – at the Goodwood Motor Circuit yesterday.

Potential customers were able to experience the hyper-SUV’s exceptional performance and immersive digital cockpit, as part of a new electric vehicle experience staged in conjunction with the Festival of Speed.

Initial feedback on the Eletre was overwhelmingly positive, with drivers praising the car’s seamless and swift acceleration, precise handling and dynamic capabilities. Their comments mirror those of global motoring media, who published their first reviews of the luxury SUV earlier this week.

Mr M, who has an Eletre R on order commented: “The luxury interior is astounding; the whole cabin is incredible. The driving experience is so light and responsive with brilliant visibility, it really clings to the road. Instant acceleration, super luxury, enjoyment personified. I can’t wait for my Eletre R to arrive.”

Ms T said, “Driving the Eletre was top of my list today, I visited one of the Eletre presentations at the end of last year, but I have to say driving it has really made up my mind. Well done Lotus!”
