28 May 2025 – London, UK / Gräfelfing, Germany
Parkopedia and NIO are working together to provide on-street parking functionality to all of the brand’s European models. This partnership sees extensive, high-quality Parkopedia data provided to NIO drivers, enabling them to easily locate on-street parking and decide where to park.

Connected car services are in high demand with drivers globally, with 92% of motorists worldwide experiencing difficulties in finding parking, according to the most recent Global Driver Survey. Furthermore, 77% of drivers want integrated parking services in their vehicles, highlighting the value of OEMs making high-quality services available for their drivers. NIO, meanwhile, continues to grow rapidly around the world, with 2025 sales up by nearly 50% year-on-year and cumulative deliveries set to pass 750,000 in May 2025.

The ‘On-Street Parking’ functionality, made available by this collaboration, provides a smarter, more convenient navigation experience for NIO drivers, helping them to find available parking, with street parking options shown directly on the integrated navigation system. In addition, the system uses Parkopedia data to highlight the likelihood of finding a space, with light blue sections showing lower likelihood and dark blue sections signifying a higher chance of free spaces being available.

Drivers are able to view detailed information about each parking zone, including hourly rates, restrictions and accepted payment methods, helping them plan their journeys more efficiently and arrive less stressed at their end destination. NIO’s latest software update, ‘Banyan 2.4.1’, is rolling out in the next few days across all current NIO models in Europe. Delivered wirelessly via a navigation app update on the new NIO App Store, this update brings a host of new features, including parking situation reports and on-street POI information, plus intelligent enhancements designed to enrich the in-car experience, covering improved driver assistance, smarter voice controls, upgraded media streaming and a new app store.

Markus Dohl, VP Europe at Parkopedia, said: “Finding available parking across Europe can be a stressful process, so we are pleased to empower NIO in providing a seamless in-car parking experience for its European drivers. Taking the stress out of the parking process and improving the driving experience requires extensive, high-quality base data, and this is why Parkopedia prides itself on only providing unparalleled complete and verified data.”

The most accurate and convenient North American eMSP is set to launch later in 2025, catering for both consumer and fleet drivers

ParkMobile to strengthen partnerships with leading North America CPOs and fleet providers, building upon its market-leading parking services to deliver a seamless proposition to EV drivers across North America

New eMSP leverages Parkopedia’s EV data and in-car payment expertise, and ParkMobile’s extensive network and parking integrations, with both brands now part of the EasyPark Group

30 April 2025 – London, UK / Atlanta, US Following the acquisition of Parkopedia by EasyPark Group and the expansion of the Group’s service portfolio, sister brand ParkMobile will launch as an eMobility Service Provider (eMSP) in North America. The EV charging service will be powered by Parkopedia, complementing ParkMobile’s existing parking platform and further enhancing its mobility offering. ParkMobile’s existing 65 million user base and market-leading smart parking and mobility platform will enable closer cooperation with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and fleet providers operating in North America to offer a seamless EV charging and payment experience via in-vehicle headunits and the ParkMobile app.

The new eMSP will leverage Parkopedia’s extensive experience in EV charging services and market-leader position for global in-car payments to create immersive EV charging payment experiences and additional opportunities for CPOs, aggregators and MSPs. This move will also support the ability to orchestrate transactions in future, offering greater added value to both drivers and fleet managers, while enabling OEMs to provide desirable premium EV charging services to their customers.

This new offering will create the most accurate and convenient eMSP in North America, enabling ParkMobile customers to use their pre-existing accounts to not only park but also charge – something which is becoming increasingly important as EV adoption accelerates around the world. Unique driver experiences will be facilitated by the combination of Parkopedia’s auto-grade data products and ParkMobile’s sophisticated payment functionality.

Once live, fleet customers will benefit from being able to access new EV fleet capabilities from within their existing fleet management solution, ensuring greater convenience and efficiency.

Benefits for consumers
This new functionality will enable ParkMobile customers to pay for parking and charging via a single solution. Not only does this provide convenience to drivers, but it also helps drivers to find the cheapest available charging sessions, regardless of provider, via multi-contract plug and charge capabilities. Research shows that many drivers are frustrated by having to rely on multiple systems to access services and want convenient unified platforms, with 97% of US participants in the 2025 In-Car Payments User Experience Report stating that they would value being able to access multiple in-car payment services (eg. parking, fuelling/EV charging etc.) through one platform.

Nearly all US participants (97%) also said that in-car payment functionality would improve their driving experience, showing that integrated connected car services are becoming a more important selling point for new car buyers.

Benefits for fleet managers
The new solution will seamlessly integrate into existing fleet management systems, offering businesses greater convenience and helping them to reduce their operational costs thanks to intelligent route optimization and improved vehicle utilization by enabling fleets to find and access the cheapest charging options across multiple MSPs and CPOs thanks to Parkopedia’s developed multi-contract Plug & Charge solution and tariff transparency.

Not only does this enable better cost control, but it also reduces the complexity of invoice management by combining parking and charging costs into one invoice. It also ensures more efficient use of fleet vehicles, improving vehicle utilization by incorporating EV charging into daily route planning.

This is particularly important as the cost of public charging can vary dramatically and the benefit of reduced fuelling costs by moving from ICE vehicles to EVs is only possible if fleets charge intelligently and avoid costly charging locations and providers – some of which can cost more to charge than an equivalent amount of gas would for an ICE vehicle.

Meanwhile, fleet drivers will benefit from reduced time needed to find public chargers, thanks to accurate data, including real-time availability information. In addition, having access to this functionality through the head unit of the vehicle offers greater convenience to drivers, with the option for them to view this information on mobile devices, if desired.

Highlighting the value of this new eMSP, Duncan Licence, Chief Product Officer, at Parkopedia, said:
“This new eMSP service will offer significant value to drivers, fleets and OEMs, by combining the value of our extensive parking and charging data with in-car transactions and making this easily accessible to more than 65 million existing ParkMobile customers. We know drivers value being able to access their driving-related services in one platform, with confidence in utilizing the best available tariffs to charge, and in-car payments becoming increasingly demanded by drivers, with this new eMSP offering covering all this and more.”

Scott Booker, General Manager of Parking at EasyPark Group, parent company of ParkMobile, stated: “ParkMobile is committed to expanding direct integrations with a growing network of CPOs to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for drivers, fleets, and OEMs. The announcement of our new eMSP service represents a significant step forward in our ability to provide added value to our customers—particularly as EV adoption accelerates and demand for frictionless charging solutions continues to rise.”

06 February 2025 – London, UK / Kyiv, Ukraine
Parkopedia and AWT Bavaria Ukraine, in conjunction with BMW AG, have completed the integration of 4,272 Ukrainian charge points into selected BMW models and the MyBMW app, improving the driving and charging experience for BMW EV drivers in the country.

This new partnership enables AWT Bavaria Ukraine, the official importer for the BMW Group in Ukraine and Parkopedia to ensure the greatest possible convenience for their EV drivers in the second-largest country in Europe. The addition of accurate and comprehensive charge point information in Ukraine plays a significant role in facilitating the transition to EVs in this important emerging market.

The integration allows EV drivers to easily find the nearest charging stations on their desired routes and select their favourite charging providers via their vehicles and the MyBMW app. Drivers can access information on the exact location and features of the charging station, plus, verify the availability of free chargers, saving them time and reducing any associated charging anxiety.

EV sales continue to increase in developed markets, with some of the highest growth rates witnessed in emerging markets, such as Ukraine, where historic uptake has been low. Parkopedia is supporting BMW AG and AWT Bavaria Ukraine to roll out charging coverage in emerging markets, as part of our global EV Charging product.

Highlighting the value of this partnership, Markus Dohl, VP of Sales Europe at Parkopedia, said: “This latest partnership demonstrates our continued focus on enabling EV drivers to locate and navigate to their desired charging locations around the world. In-car EV charging data plays a pivotal role in emerging EV markets and is crucial in facilitating the uptake of EVs in Ukraine. We are honoured to provide this service in the country, which wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration of our local CPO partners.”

Erik Berning, CEO of AWT Bavaria, added: “We always strive to provide our customers with the best driving experience possible, and this partnership with Parkopedia is an important step in this direction. By expanding access to charging stations and providing information about them, we are making electric car ownership even more convenient and affordable. Such important partnerships help to contribute to the development of environmentally friendly mobility in Ukraine and improve the experience of electric vehicle usage.”

This in-market service is powered by innovative CPO partners: YASNO E-Mobility, TOKA and Ecofactor (including the local IONITY network), along with GO TO-U, who has previously collaborated with Parkopedia on additional EV charging services.

Latest MINI media system best showcases the new streamlined EV charging experience

Unique circular screen makes the typically challenging charging process enjoyable for MINI drivers thanks to integration with Parkopedia

System makes it easy to find and verify desired charging sessions from within the vehicle

18 December 2024 – London, UK / Munich, Germany
MINI’s latest circular media system as part of their fresh new design language, provides an EV charging experience that delights drivers by seamlessly integrating Parkopedia’s award-winning EV charging data into the vehicle, making the charging process a more positive and enjoyable experience. This enables drivers across the USA, Europe and Asia1 to easily locate EV charging from the comfort of their cars, addressing one of the main pain points of owning an electric vehicle.

EV charging data plays a central role in the latest generation of electric MINIs, which feature the automotive world’s first circular in-car OLED screen. The new models feature a high-resolution 240mm screen, which offers strong clarity and next-level digital technology, while retaining the iconic MINI design of a circular central dial. The lower part of the screen is dedicated to important functions including navigation, which can be accessed at any time, improving usability.

OLED screen central to minimalist interior
As part of true driver convenience, the MINI OLED screen sits at the heart of the cabin, providing all core vehicle data, navigation, connected services, media and climate controls. The ‘ambience’ of the car can now be tailored to the driver’s personal preferences through distinct new MINI Experience Modes, which enable the driver to personalise the displays and driving experience.

The central OLED display contributes to a clean and uncluttered interior layout that reduces distractions, enabling the driver to focus on the driving experience, with the car’s interior having a minimalist, digital, immersive and warm feel. Helping to make the system as usable as possible, MINI has made sure that all vehicle functions are operable through either touch or voice controls, with the display being moved nearer to the driver to ensure easy reach.

This innovative in-car technology is available across a broad range of global markets, including the USA, Europe and Asia. MINI Navigation features 3D visualisation and augmented reality displays as well as providing information on free parking spaces, with integrated in-car payment functionality, to further improve the driver experience.

Charging still a significant concern for many EV drivers
Charging is often seen as troublesome and tedious by EV drivers, with more than 90% of EV drivers being anxious about charging, according to the latest Parkopedia Global Driver Survey, with 44% having run out of charge before. The new circular OLED screen and seamless functionality aim to make charging a pleasing experience – a standout value-added feature for MINI drivers.

OLED screens are thinner and offer greater colour and contrast than LED equivalents, providing a more punchy image and greater clarity on the move. Integration of connected car services from Parkopedia offers added value to MINI drivers through parking and charging data and seamless in-car payments. This enables drivers of the latest generation of MINI models to search for parking and charging effortlessly from within the vehicle, navigate to these locations and pay for parking directly through the vehicle.

Drivers want in-car connected services functionality
This functionality successfully addresses the growing demand for more sophisticated in-car services, with 60% of drivers wanting in-car payments for services such as parking, charging, fuel and tolls, according to the latest Parkopedia Global Driver Survey. EV charging is highly valued by drivers, with 56% of global motorists wanting this feature, including 74% of current EV drivers.

More than half of drivers who would consider an EV consider finding charging away from home a concern and therefore having in-car features that simplify the process of both finding and paying for charging should help to encourage drivers to choose cars with these features. Brands that execute these features well also stand to benefit from increased customer loyalty compared with those that leave their drivers to find charging without assistance.

Julian Kisch, Corporate and Governmental Affairs Spokesperson MINI, said: “Not only does this service simplify the process of locating EV chargers, but it makes the whole charging experience more in tune with MINI’s brand values. The circular OLED media system provides a uniquely fun experience while being able to seamlessly access charging data directly from the vehicle takes the stress out of charging for MINI drivers.”

Highlighting the value of this service, Markus Dohl, VP of Sales Europe at Parkopedia, added: “MINI’s new circular media system provides a distinct, customisable driving experience and the addition of Parkopedia’s high-quality and extensive charging data charmingly displayed on their unique circular OLED screen, addresses one of the main concerns raised by EV drivers – finding and navigating to EV chargers to alleviate charging anxiety, potentially even with a smile. This is a big selling point for a distinctive brand such as MINI where a significant amount of the vehicle range is now electric.”

Parkopedia releases the third edition of its Global Parking Index, with detailed information on global average parking prices and the key trends influencing price changes

New York continues to be the most expensive city for 2-hour off-street parking ($43.10 average) and is now also the most expensive city for daily off-street parking ($52.65 average)

Australia also continues to be the most expensive country for both 2-hour off-street parking ($19.12 average) and daily off-street parking ($34.42 average)

Amsterdam ranks as one of the most expensive cities to park in the world, being the most expensive city for 2-hour on-street ($13.31 average), the second most expensive for monthly off-street parking ($641.77 average), as well as the third most expensive for daily off-street ($47.22 average)

15 November 2022 – London, UK
Parkopedia is pleased to release the 2022 Global Parking Index, the leading source of global parking prices at a city and country level, based on Parkopedia’s data covering over 90 million parking spaces, across 20,000 cities in 90 countries. The latest edition provides further insight into the ever-changing parking industry, comparing global parking prices while identifying the most expensive places to park, broken down by on- and off-street locations, and 2-hour, daily and monthly parking duration periods. The 2022 Parking Index also covers the latest trends that have the strongest influence on pricing changes worldwide and additionally includes daily on-street parking pricing for the first time since reports began in 2017.

Highlights
Despite significant global changes that have occurred in the last 3 years, the 2022 Parking Index offers a continuation of parking pricing patterns observed in the 2019 Global Parking Index. New York remains the most expensive city for 2-hour off-street parking, with an average of $43.10, and Australia continues to hold the title of the most expensive city for 2-hour off-street parking with an average of $19.12, and daily off-street parking, with an average of $34.42. The Netherlands is now the most expensive country for monthly off-street parking at an average of $344.29 (previously 2nd place in 2019), whilst its capital Amsterdam, continues to be one of the most expensive cities to park in the world, ranking as the most expensive city for 2-hour on-street parking with an average of $13.31, the second most expensive for monthly off-street parking with an average of $641.77, as well as the third most expensive for daily off-street parking with an average of $47.22.

Events in recent years have introduced significant individual fluctuations in average prices. South Korea has been named the most expensive country for daily on-street parking, with an average of $37.75, with Russia experiencing one of the greatest changes in the last three years, with a price increase of 42.7% for 2-hour off-street and 42.6% for daily off-street parking. Turkey has also experienced significant changes in pricing, likely due to heavy inflation rate rises recently, as it now ranks first in monthly off-street – countries with the greatest 3-year change, with a 41.3% increase in pricing from 2019 to 2022. US cities dominate the results for the most expensive 2-hour off-street pricing, however the most expensive cities for daily-off street parking are predominantly found within Europe – a trend that is most likely due to US parking operators charging the majority of the daily parking rate upfront (typically the first 2 hours) in large US cities, an uncommon practice in other countries.

Trends
Parkopedia has identified three key trends driving parking price changes: supply and demand, green initiatives and rising inflation. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on parking prices in the last three years, as the fear of contagion drove many to opt for private vehicles instead of public transportation, combined with municipalities worldwide introducing initiatives to support the hospitality sector, which affected on-street parking supply. Another common trend affecting supply is the transformation of on-street parking spaces into pedestrian zones or cycling routes to allow for greener areas and the encouragement to use multi-modal forms of transport in the push towards greener living and cleaner urban areas. High rates of inflation have also impacted average prices worldwide, with Parkopedia’s results showing the average per country inflation for 2-hour off-street parking was 6.2%, while the average for 2-hour on-street parking was 21.8%.
