GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – 18 November 2025. Polestar takes first step in enabling bi-directional charging to customers, ultimately making it possible to use the car as a powerbank and monetise it when parked while supporting the electric grid. Together with home energy company dcbel, Polestar is launching a vehicle-to-home (V2H), blackout protection support and smart charging solution for Polestar 3 customers in the U.S., starting with California.

Bi-directional charging technology allows electric cars to both charge and discharge energy from their batteries, with the capability to send energy to the user’s home or back to the electricity grid. As a result, the car can help reduce energy costs, act as a backup source for your home, support the local grid, and increase the use of renewable energy¹.

This initial bi-directional charging solution uses direct current (DC) and enables V2H functionality for Polestar 3 customers on the 400 Volt electrical architecture. The commercial offer is aimed at residents in California who can take advantage of local state incentives and includes the dcbel home energy system, Ara, and allows customers to reduce charging costs by up to 1,300 USD per year2 and use their car as an energy backup during blackouts for up to 10 days³.

California residents can enjoy rebates as part of a California Energy Commission program administered by dcbel, offsetting large parts of the investment for both the energy system and installation. Polestar continues the development of bi-directional charging capability and plans to introduce a wider offer in the future. In Germany, with more European markets to follow, Polestar has launched a bi-directional-ready AC home charger together with partner Zaptec; the Zaptec Go2. Compatible with Polestar 3, this charger enables bi-directional charging when the feature becomes available for the car in the future.

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – 19 November 2025. Polestar, the Swedish electric performance car brand, will integrate Google Gemini, the next-generation AI voice assistant, into all models from Polestar 2 and onwards through a future Google update. As a preview of this upcoming innovation, Polestar and Google will host a guided demonstration of Gemini inside the Polestar 5 at Slush, one of Europe’s leading tech events.

Sid Odedra, Head of UI/UX at Polestar, says: “Our collaboration with Google is a great example of how we continue to evolve the digital experience in our cars. Gemini brings the next generation of AI voice interaction into the car, and we’re excited to give a first look at how it will enhance the driving experience.”

Gemini is an upgrade from Google Assistant with generative AI integrated, enabling users to have a more natural conversation with their Polestar. In addition to simple commands, users can expand their interaction with Gemini Live. With a simple prompt: “Hey Google, let’s talk”, users can activate the new feature, which enables them to brainstorm aloud, ask follow-up questions, and access new learning opportunities on the go. Gemini will replace the current Google Assistant in all Polestar cars.

Polestar and Google will exhibit side by side at Slush, which takes place in Helsinki, Finland on 19-20 November 2025. Visitors can experience Gemini firsthand in the Polestar 5 at the Polestar stand.

Polestar users can experience Gemini from 2026 onwards, starting with US English.

Polestar is placing three cars on the starting line of this year’s Mille Miglia Green – all long-range versions of the Polestar 2, Polestar 3 and Polestar 4. These cars have motorsport and competition in their genes, combined with large batteries to enable range of over 600 kilometres** between charges. The cars are fitted with original equipment Michelin E Primacy and Pilot Sport EV tyres that are optimised for electric vehicles, and which have been co-developed by the Polestar chassis team – for optimal handling characteristics and range optimisation.

The unique ‘Collezione Mille’ racing liveries are inspired by the history of the Mille Miglia and pay a modern homage to rich Italian racing heritage. ‘Collezione Mille’ evolves the look and feel of the livery design presented with Polestar’s ‘Arctic Circle’ collection, which debuted at the FAT Ice Race in Austria earlier this year.

The two-tone paint scheme, with the ‘dipped’ front end, is traditionally how racing teams would differentiate drivers during the race. For Polestar, it becomes an extension of the yellow split colour scheme from the ‘Arctic Circle’ collection. The white circle, normally reserved for racing numbers becomes a design feature of the livery itself, appearing understated pre-race and then featuring the official entry numbers once Mille Miglia Green begins. Large 2,3 and 4 decals expressed in the colours of the Italian flag, celebrate the country where the Mille Miglia Green is hosted.

Stretching over 25 venues in Shoreditch, the SXSW event will showcase some of the world’s best innovators in tech, screen, music and creativity.

Polestar will be exhibiting at the event with innovative activations, including filming the Polestar Performance Stage through the roof-mounted rearview camera on Polestar 4 and beaming it to the large screen behind the artists.

Positioned in Ely’s Yard, Polestar 4 will also be on display for visitors to explore the SUV coupé, which has removed the rear windscreen in favour of a digital rearview mirror, providing drivers with unparalleled breadth of vision and clarity to the rear. The Polestar Performance Stage features 10 music concerts (full schedule below), with emerging artists handpicked by SXSW and Polestar teams.

Polestar sponsors the Planet and Energy speaker track and will be hosting a keynote address by Sid Odedra, Polestar’s new Head of UI/UX on the topic of how a more human approach can bring back tech as a force for good. Sid joined Polestar in 2025 from Audi and has a PhD in robotics and experience across automotive, tech, fashion and entertainment. Polestar’s Sustainability Advocacy lead Ellen Broomé will also join the  “Cancelling Sustainability” panel, discussing climate scepticism. 

In addition, between now and the start of the event, Polestar will hide a limited number of scale model Polestar cars across the city of London. Each one grants the finder a Platinum ticket to the festival, offering full access to the programme. Clues to the locations will be shared on Polestar’s Instagram account @polestarcars in the days leading up to the event.

Polestar 2 receives a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor chip, supporting quicker download speeds for in-car apps, faster reaction times within apps and actions, improved centre display responsiveness, and smoother performance within its infotainment system overall.

Offered as an additional upgrade, Polestar 2 can now be equipped with Bowers & Wilkins for Polestar. This high-end audio system comprises 14 speakers, with a total output of 1,350 Watts. Key features include Tweeter-on-Top technology for improved clarity and accuracy, and Continuum midrange speakers that minimise distortion, delivering a rich audio experience. Design cues incorporate branded detail on the front door panels and stainless-steel mesh on the rear door panels, highlighting the sophisticated audio system in the car.

A new exterior colour, Dune, makes its debut on Polestar 2. This contemporary metallic colour has a smooth mica finish with a sandy hue, and replaces Jupiter. Externally, a new five-spoke design for the car’s 20-inch forged alloy Performance wheels, the lightest available for Polestar 2 to date, is introduced and available as part of the optional Performance Pack. On the interior, a new bio-attributed MicroTech upholstery in Charcoal with distinctive quilting design and Black Ash deco is available with the optional Plus Pack.

As with Polestar 3, Plug & Charge technology is now included in Polestar 2, offering a seamless charging experience for drivers who can simply park at a public charger, plug in the charging cable, and let their car initiate and authenticate the process**. Plug & Charge can be enabled via the Polestar Charge app and within the car settings. Once enabled, the need for multiple charging cards or apps is eliminated, streamlining the overall experience.

Polestar is also introducing a new, optional Prime Pack comprising the Pilot, Plus, and Climate packs, and rear privacy glass, as one cost-effective pack bundle. Tint is now applied to rear side windows, in addition to the tailgate window.

Polestar 2 model year 2026 welcomes a battery update for the Standard range Single motor variant in select markets. All Polestar markets now offer a 70 kWh battery from CATL, in contrast to the previous 69 kWh LG Chem battery, meaning this variant now has an improved range of up to 554 km (WLTP), up from 546 km.

BICESTER, UK – 3 March 2025. Polestar has added 2,754 charging points to its Polestar Charge subscription offer in the UK. Across its active European markets, that takes the total charging points included in the discounted offer to more than 62,000 across 41 charge operators. In addition, the standard Polestar Charge offer now gives direct access to over 900,000 individual charging points, for seamless and hassle-free public charging.

The 89% increase in charging points in the UK means subscribers can now take advantage of 30% discounted charging at 5,854 charging points locally. Six charging providers are included in the subscription:

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – 20 February 2025. Polestar is continuing with its commitment to comprehensively update the Polestar 3 throughout its lifecycle. Since delivering the first customer Polestar 3 in June 2024, the Swedish brand has implemented nine software updates to its flagship SUV, while across its three-car range it has delivered over 30 OTA software updates since launching the Polestar 2 in 2020.

This most recent OTA software update for the Polestar 3, the first software-defined vehicle from Europe, adds additional features such as walk-away locking and digital key functionality for selected devices.

Polestar digital key functionality allows smartphone* users to enjoy the convenience of unlocking, locking or starting their vehicle while leaving their phone in their pocket. Polestar digital key functionality can be shared cross platform**.

OTA updates aren’t limited to additional applications, features or greater software stability but can also include changes to driving attributes and active safety systems. Thanks to its centralised core computing system, Polestar 3 offers even greater possibilities for comprehensive updates.

For model year 2026 the Polestar 3 will be delivered with an upgrade from its current -generation NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Xavier processor to a new, more powerful, NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin processor.

Crucially, this hardware update, which will bring with it even greater computing power, will also be offered to all existing Polestar 3 customers as a complimentary upgrade, staying true to the Swedish brand’s promise to continue to add value and deliver the very best user experience to its customers.

Designed to make it easier for developers to distribute their large screen optimised mobile apps to car screens, Polestar drivers will be able to enjoy dozens of new apps while parked, including Farm Heroes Saga and F1 TV. Born in the world of motorsport and expertly integrated by Polestar’s Head of Driving Dynamics, Joakim Rydholm, Polestar’s performance DNA is partly developed and perfected in the specifically challenging environment within the Arctic Circle in northern Sweden. With multiple Swedish rally podium finishes  to his name and over 30 years in motorsport, Joakim and the Polestar Design and Brand teams have applied the rally formula to the complete Polestar model range, with each car exhibiting slightly different characteristics.

Built at one of Polestar’s Swedish R&D facilities, the general formula of raised ride height with custom 3-way adjustable Öhlins dampers, specialised Pirelli studded tyres, OZ Racing wheels (world premiere of the new ‘Rally Legend’), new Quad Evo front spotlights from Stedi, and bucket seats from Recaro, give the cars a rally flavour. Then, accessories are applied to the vehicles in different executions, including skis, roof racks, storage solutions and recovery equipment – bringing additional Polestar brand partnerships to the fore.

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – 16 January 2025. Polestar (Nasdaq: PSNY) today presents an updated strategy, as the Company starts its next chapter, with significant changes being made to improve operational, commercial and financial performance.

The updated business plan targets a compound annual retail sales volume growth of 30-35% for 2025 to 2027 and a positive adjusted EBITDA in 2025. Gaining commercial and operational momentum, further margin, fixed costs and working capital improvements are expected from 2026 onwards, with a positive free cash flow after investments expected in 2027.

Product portfolio: Polestar 5 to come this year, Polestar 7 planned to be produced in Europe 
After the global success of Polestar 2 and ramp-up of deliveries of Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, the second half of 2025 will see the planned start of sales of Polestar 5, the performance 4-seat grand-tourer based on Polestar’s in-house developed bonded-aluminium platform. It will also be the first Polestar to use 800-Volt technology.

Polestar today announces Polestar 7 will be a premium compact SUV, targeting the world’s fastest growing and most profitable premium segment. With its growing portfolio, Polestar reaffirms its position as a truly global, premium EV brand.

Reinforcing the value of Polestar’s asset-light business model, Polestar 7 is planned to be manufactured in Europe. With production already in place in the USA, South Korea and China, Polestar continues to strengthen its global position with a well-balanced international manufacturing network. Over time, from Polestar 7 onwards, the Company will gradually move from a multi-platform approach to one single architecture, reducing complexity, costs, and investments.

Active sales model and commercial expansion
Polestar is accelerating its shift to an active selling model, with new retail partners and more retail spaces. Together with its partners, Polestar plans to expand from 70 to 130 and from 36 to 57 retail spaces in Europe and North America. The established direct-to-consumer online sales channel will remain, giving customers a choice in how they want to buy their Polestar.

The changes being made to Polestar’s commercial operations are already having a positive impact with a 5.3% increase in retail sales in Q4 2024 and a 37.2% increase in order intake in Q4 2024 compared to the same quarter last year. Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 represent 56% of order intake in Q4 2024, creating a strong momentum as we enter 2025.

Polestar’s new market expansion will now focus on France, with sales starting in 2025. France is one of the largest and fastest growing EV markets in Europe and a natural fit for a premium brand like Polestar. Additional expansion, across Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America, is planned from 2026 onwards.

Additional revenue streams: Increasing sales of CO₂ credits 
Moving forward, Polestar expects significantly increased revenue contribution from the sales of CO₂ credits. With traditional OEMs struggling to transition to EVs, the demand for these credits is expected to increase in the coming years, to a three-digit million-dollar amount per year, from 2025. Polestar has already created an EU CO₂ pool with four OEMs for 2025.

New customer offer: Launch of innovative energy business
Polestar is launching Polestar Energy in several key markets in Europe. This new customer offer makes home charging smarter, more efficient, and cheaper. Through the service, customers can reduce their home charging costs by up to 30%, using the Polestar Energy app. The more Polestar customers charge and support the grid through Polestar Energy, the more benefits they get. The service is to be launched in several additional markets during the second half of the year, with the launch of bidirectional charging capabilities in Polestar’s line-up making the offer even more attractive.

Global access to high-performing charging services
Owning a Polestar continues to be made more convenient not just through better home charging, but also on the road. With Polestar Charge, customers in Europe have access to over 850,000 charging points, including Tesla Superchargers. In North America, customers have access to over 17,800 Tesla Superchargers with a NACS adaptor.

The three-way partnership will offer Polestar customers in the UK both cheaper charging at home and on the road together with the option to reduce carbon footprint through renewable energy provision for home charging. 

Head of Polestar UK, Jonathan Goodman said: “By charging your EV on renewable energy, whether at home or away, the carbon footprint can be more than halved during the car’s lifecycle compared to a petrol car. Our partnership with Ohme and Octopus makes this process easier, simple and effective for our customers and at the same time offers significant off-peak savings”.

The long-term partnership offers both retail and fleet customers purchasing a new or pre-owned car, a preferential price starting at £925 for an Ohme charger with standard installation. Between 1^st October and 31^st December 2023, private customers placing a new or used order through polestar.com will receive a complimentary Ohme EV home charger with standard installation or £900 in Octopus Electroverse public charging credit**. 

In addition, Polestar has teamed up with green energy supplier Octopus Energy to offer £30 credit when customers switch their energy supply to Octopus to access cheaper and green EV charging tariffs at home as well as up to 8% discount on public charging through the Electroverse App. 

Polestar is one of the only manufacturers globally to offer customers full transparency on the climate impact of its cars in an LCA*** (Life Cycle Assessment), highlighting the importance of recharging cars with renewable energy to bring the break-even point (the point at which the car stops contributing CO₂ to the environment compared to a petrol or diesel) down. The assessment has also helped Polestar bring the carbon use in the manufacturing phase for Polestar 2 long range dual motor down by 3.1 tonnes from 26.2 tonnes of CO₂e, to 23.1 tonnes in three years.

Customers who use suppliers like Octopus which deliver 100% green electricity to their home, can reduce the break-even point of a Polestar 2 from around 50,000 miles (79,000km) if charged with fossil fuel-produced energy to around 30,000 miles (49,000km).

Fully charging a Polestar 2 Long range Single motor with its 82kWh battery and an Ohme smart charger on a smart off-peak tariff, such as Intelligent Octopus Go*, could cost just £6.15 for a 406 mile range (WLTP). By comparison, charging on the Standard Variable Tariff would cost £22.96. Over the course of a year, customers on Intelligent Octopus Go can save £600 on their charging costs compared to a standard variable tariff.  Ohme also offers drivers the option to charge their car when renewable energy generation on the National Grid is highest, further lowering their CO₂ impact.
